UGGERHOLT  What are you talking about? I haven't heard of any free iDisk in mobileMe (except the 3 months trial).

Dropbox on the other hand, is remarkably well-functioning, very stable and 100% free – I've used beta version for months. My USB-disk hasn't left my pocket since Dropbox was installed.

UGGERHOLT  Thank you Gabriel Otte!

I stopped to use this wonderful little app. some time last year – as far as I remember, it didn't work properly on Leopard.

Now it's back on my desktop. Very appreciated :-)

OnyX

*****

UGGERHOLT  I've been using OnyX for years – and run it as a regular, necessary routine at least once a month. DON'T listen to the few odd reviews – I don't know why some post bad experiences, but OnyX is definitely not to blaim!

UGGERHOLT  Google Earth crashes on my iMac 24" (NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS graphics) - both this BETA and the previous version.

Useless until an update addresses this.

PHOENIX1701  Usually this sort of thing can be solved by deleting the Google Earth disk cache. If you can get as far as the preferences window, there's an option to delete the disk cache there. If not, though, you can delete the files yourself. They live in ~/Library/Caches/Google Earth/ and are called dbCache.dat and dbCache.dat.index. Hope this helps!

iPhoto to Picasa Web Albums
Jun 10 2008

UBERMIND  While Google's plug-in does provide a solid way to get your photos from iPhoto into Picasa Web Albums, ours has several features that Google doesn't offer, such as: customization (for file size, type, and name) and geotag support. Additionally, we've spent considerable time developing our UI to conform very closely to the standard "Mac" experience. Of course, you shouldn't simply take our word for it. iPhoto to Picasa Web Albums comes with a free 15-day trial, during which the plug-in is fully functional. This will allow you to compare them side-by-side. We think you won't be disappointed.

Transmission

UGGERHOLT  "• still use a lot of CPU

• still use all my RAM (but better)

• still use Dock CPU (Version 1.11)"

In my experience (PPC OSX 10.5.2 - Transmission from 0.x.x and up to 1.20:

NO extensive CPU or RAM usage (current and previous versions).

works like a charm :-)

StuffIt Expander 2010
Nov 24 2007

UGGERHOLT  I do not understand why people are complaining about this program. The Expander is FREE and do the job (file expansion) OK. Have recently expanded a 4.46 GB RAR file - no trouble at all.
