TRONDAH  What are you talking about?

Documentation: http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/Documentation

FAQ: http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/FAQ

Did you even look at the web page? There's a community forum as well with helpful people. Not that you should need one for getting started, Plex really should work out of the box on a supported system.

MPlayer OSX Extended
Oct 20 2008
*****

TRONDAH  MPlayer has always been the best media player out there, I can still remember the day that it brought DivX to Linux.

Adrian has done an amazing job to package up the player and bring us a sweet frontend as well. Bye bye to VLC! Thanks Adrian :)

MACGEEK914  The purpose of BitEncrypt is not to create encrypted disk images, its purpose is to simply encrypt and decrypt files easily.

TRONDAH  Same here, this sucks! It's like they're not even using the software themselves. This app is so brilliant if it's just working, I wouldn't mind paying more for it even.

Silverlight
Jun 27 2008

TRONDAH  Doesn't look very good. Silverlight uses a LOT of CPU, and is having real problems playing the VC-1 video demo on the MS site.

I'd love to see a replacement for Flash, as it's very heavy on the CPU and constantly crashes my Safari. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be it for the time being.

TRONDAH  SciFi: simple request? In your previous post you sound like you are being forced to use this software, and it's really easy for the devs to add tiger support.

In reality, we are all lucky to have those few devs working hours and hours in their _spare_ time to get us XBMC for OSX. They do not have the resources to do a tiger port, for sure. No bug report will fix that.

That's why I suggest talk to the main developer, he is actually very responsive to requests and a really nice guy.

TRONDAH  I believe you are welcome to join the project and add Tiger support. Or if you made a donation I'm sure the few developers working on XBMC for OSX would consider adding Tiger support for you.

TRONDAH  I'd say your router sucks. It's a known fact a lot of routers don't handle a lot of simultaneous connections, don't blame that on the application. I'm guessing you also have problems with torrents?

TRONDAH  I have to disagree, Toast is an excellent product. Personally I love the new HD features in version 9, if you don't need them then don't upgrade.

Can't blame them for trying to make money, they have mouths to feed as well. As long as there are no alternatives I'm sure the price will stay as is.

TRONDAH  I'd like to see that too. As a system administrator for an IT company through 6 years I have yet to see any. I know it's possible, and that there are proof of concepts floating around, but in practice I never even heard of anyone getting infected by anything.

TRONDAH  I don't think you understood my question. You say Medialink should have growl support. What message would Medialink display with growl? "You are now watching the Matrix on your PS3"? That would not be necessary, as you already know what you are watching.

Just asking, I welcome new and useful features too :)

TRONDAH  Ok seriously thank you Nullriver for this! Finally decent UPnP software for my lovely Mac. Not only that, the software is great, and it keeps getting better, like twice a day! I bought it right away and would gladly pay double. Finally my PS3 is starting to use some of it's potential.

TRONDAH  I was depressed yesterday after learning that Xtorrent was no longer free, and that

Azureus is now just spamware. There seemed

to be no hope, when I stumbled upon a link

to the CVS version of Transmission, and I was pleasantly surprised of all the nice features (NAT-PMP for instance).

This is now the de facto torrent client for OSX. Brilliant!
