TRAHE  I used the software some months, i liked the feature, then after update to Snow Leopard i had to uninstall , bcs of incompatibility.

Yesterday i downloaded from their Software site, THERE is no hint about upgrade/license, after all it turned out, one has to buy complete new license.

Well so wasted my time, bcs i was convinced it would be free for me, bcs of no mention.

I do not complain about upgrade fees ! But it should be mentioned

Anyway i like the free herald even more now

TRAHE  I tried and bought this App, bcs it brings together, what i thought was good idea to put together :

Clipboard Manager (also keeps Clipboard after Shutdown), rather interesting to have the Clips sorted by Spaces/App

AutoTyper (replaces self defined acronyms like TIA with completion)

Notes : which i never have known to be needed, but some tiny good replacement of using TextEdit, also you can have tags for linking notes to each other, might be more interesting when get used

AutoFiler: some Hazel like Rule Sets for Folders

Wel actually, to make it short, i like this App, bcs it is more easy to use than having

mutltiple Apps, for me it replaced Savvy Clipboard, Hazel, Typinator, and can be configured all in one.

I am indy developer myself so like the simplicity and ease of use

**...

TRAHE  Well the rating is bad, bcs i would recommend anyone to stik with the old 3.1.2 version, even so it has no video function, stability and most of all the ACF function works.

To explain:

ACF = All CAlls Free, which means the buddies on your list may become ACF members, and then you are able to call landline/or even mobile phone of those for free.

The new version seems to get nuts on this feature, it marks almost everyone as active ACF (curiously some are marked inanctive ACF (so i can use this plan in the old version).

Which means in fact :

The new version shows peoples number like you are able to call for free, but EVERY CALL you do is charged! Even the ones previously used to be free!

This is a big step backwards most annoyingly cannot rely anymore on the ACF Status.

Even so it might make your acount settings confused!

So if you like the ACF plan of Gizmo you better do not touch this Version !

PRO : Well it has no video and like always Computer to Computer is free anyway

CONTRA : Using it for mobile / landline you never know , if you are charged or not (well most of the times you are charged)

TRAHE  Well the software does waht it claims to do and doing so it does it quite easily.

I admit for non german speakers it might be not very usefull to read the "Benutzerhandbuch", but really we use a Mac so who does read Manuals.

Well maybe i undestimate the value of reading the buttons, but the iconographics and even more the pretty same words german/english, should make the software usable even for those people, who will never learn another langauge than english.

C'Mon it is freeware, it is an academic project, you guys have nothing more to do than to complain about the language ? it is not chinese and there is babelfish for years out LOL.

Perl Dev Kit

****.

TRAHE  Perl Dev Kit is a great tool for doing cross.platform Applications, though you will need to install on every single Platform andbuild on them,

the integrated PPM Package Manager, makes installing and maintaing Modules a snap, but well the PPM packages are quite less compared to the complete CPAN, anyway this helps a lot to keep an eye on dependencies and make sure the App will work in (special) Windows, too.

I rather like the debugging in Komodo IDE

I miss some kind of simple GUI IDE, but well this is merely the point of Perl ..., since there are many, and very OS dependant GUIs
