TOM_BOVO  I'm not saying they are malicious web site. WebSense the company is saying that. They make firewall software and censorship software, so one day I try to check the web site from where I work, and BINGO. The idiot censors at WebSense have blacklisted them. The owners need to contact WebSense and try to get themselves unlisted.

TOM_BOVO  WebSense filtering software has this company on its blacklist and blocks all access to it.

Reason: The Websense category "Malicious Web Sites" is filtered.

TOM_BOVO  I have been a user of Drive Genius since version 1. The sales staff and tech support staff have always been responsive and easy to deal with, and the product itself has kept my Macs going. I disagree with the reviews here about the DeFrag function--it has worked for me, but then I make sure the disk is repaired BEFORE and AFTER running the Defrag. As a matter of fact, I think its time to use this on my desktop again!

TOM_BOVO  Try Googling "pgp problems" or "pgp issues," "PGP crashes," or look at the reviews at versiontracker.com--you will find a lot of reported problems with the software and a lot of discontent with PGP Corp. Most of the negative reviews come from ac users and problems with the company are from individual users. PGP Corp caters to Windows and corporate users, and spends a lot of time suppressing bad press.

TOM_BOVO  I do not understand why the good reviews of this software, without giving examples or any concrete evidence, are allowed to stay here. Most negative reviews are removed by the MacUpdate staff. This is not unbiased reportage by this web site. Perhaps under pressure from PGP corp, all, negative reviews are are just made to go away. If someone Googles for PGP reviews, a different story about this company will emerge.

EVAN MCNULTY  I just googled "pgp review" and they were by and large positive.

TOM_BOVO  Chandler looks very promising. This could be a killer app IF stability and speed improve. I've been playing around with Chandler, and imported some iCal calendars--so far so good. Adding an event from within the app caused it to throw a bug. Creating an email from within the app threw a bug. My other issue is that overall its a little slow.

The layout concept of the dashboard, collections, and the triage table view will work for me, when the app truly works. Its billed as RC (release candidate), but I would say it feels more like a mid to late cycle beta version. Its getting there, but it ain't there yet!

TOM_BOVO  Software Update sees no Safari 3.1.2 update (for Leopard) and the link on the Apple site downloads the 3.1.1 update for Leopard, but a 3.1.2 update for Tiger. Has anyone actually gotten this update?

WALRUSCP  Safari update is included in the 10.5.4 update. As for Tiger updates, not sure what to say - it should be a separate update.

TOM_BOVO  This is the first tool in my bag of tricks to keep my Mac running. It checks, it repairs, it tests, it clones and more. The company has been responsive, and they are very fair in their pricing policy.

This is a great tool to have. I used used it to repair the disk, then cloned a Tiger system as a backup disk, then updated Tiger to Leopard. Perfect.

Hopefully, a Leopard compatible version will be here soon.
