TIJEJ  Did anybody managed to use that software with a big database ?

I've imported all my account history from a .qif file into iBank. It contained 6 years of history (approximately 4000 operations)

iBank took 15 minutes to import. A bit long, but it's a one-time operation, so I can live with that.

But when my account was ready, adding a new transaction took 15 seconds. This is not acceptable. Come on ! 4000 entires in a database is nothing.

I've done the same thing in Money. And it's snappy. So sorry guys, I'll use Money.

Does anybody have a different experience with iBank ? Something I did wrong (can't thing of anything, but who knows ?).

TIJEJ  Have you tried CocoaPacketAnalyzer ?

Maybe it's not as powerful as WireShark, but it's a good piece of software :

TIJEJ  Very promising.

Still has a few bugs (which will be hopefully smashed down before the final release) but all in all, it's a really nice tool.

I really like the new feature to connect to a remote database via ssh.

Gonna buy it really really soon.

TIJEJ  I don't recommend turning off Apple's Dock.

A-Dock is NOT a replacement for Apple's Dock. I've never claimed it was. It's just a complimentary dock with some different features.

A-Dock cannot emulate some of the features Apple's Dock provides, which I cannot live without : windows minimization, desktop background customization....

So you'll probably understand I'll never provide any built-in way to disable Apple's Dock.

You can do it, but at you own risk !

TIJEJ  Although Smell-O-Mints is nice, it doesn't offer all the functions you have in Elements.

Smell-O-Mints offers only basic information on elements (Class, state, radioactive...).

Elements is way better. If offers a lot of information, has a nice graph mode, a mass calculator, a comparator, a bohr diagram display. And all that in a very nice GUI.

It's not free, but cheap for the number of features you get.

TIJEJ  This software is stucked in the Mac OS 9 ages.

If you want a modern periodic table (not free, but quite cheap : $10), check out Elements from Digital Science.

TIJEJ  I'm quite surprised with the bad reviews for this software.

Honestly, I've tried all the GUI apps to handle my mySQL database.

This one is fast, reliable and nice. What more do you want ?

A bit expensive though if you (as I) only need mySQL connectivity. But all in all a very nice program.
