5 out 8 comments on a rather uncritical review of Macupdate Desktop mentioned AppFresh, 2 of them the redirection to your product which meets your standards better than the alternative…

I really love MacUpdate, my main issue is that if you do it for your own product, it could happen with any other.

THYX  As far as I can see, the bad-to-catastrophic reviews were based on v.1.0.x messing around system folders.

So, I'd rather be happy to see if they figured out how to deliver the promised benefits in a stable way. (and behave like an ordinary OS X citizen – I'm lucky this was the only app ever that screwed up my system with my admin permission provided)

THYX  Despite of - or rather because of - my initial 'experience' (i.e. v.1.0.6 crashing my system due to messing round system folders),

I'm curious, too, to hear if they fixed it, before trying it out myself.

If it works as advertised, I'd be as close as last time to buy it in an instant.

THYX  Just for the record: heard about Ascendancy in facebook, searched for a Mac version – which I would have bought for my iBook back then, and wouldn't work on an Intel MacBook for sure – and only then I realized fully that Dos emulators exist.

Everything works as advertised! (the major annoyance was that it took me some time to just try and find the Right-Click - it's Apple-Click)
