THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  I used to use this a lot. But it has become quite expensive and there are free alternatives that are as good. Also, possting updates without any release notes is quite uncourteous. Why not let your (paying) customers know, what all the great changes in the software have been about?

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  The gMail IMAP issues with Apple Mail were the reason to switch to Thunderbird for me, too. I hope they get 3.0 final done very soon. It's been in the pipe for ages now!

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  I'm having several issues under Snow Leopard. Trouble with mounting the device, trouble when backing up on the device. Get system crashes -> have to force shut down...

Please fix this. This would be essential.

B2K  Ok, i had this problem too. But if you open using Rosetta (right click application, then get info, then tick "open using Rosetta" under the general tab.) it should work.

Hope this works for you too :D

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  Very good review. I feel exactly the same about all those point. But I'm confused with the grid view and the size of the covers.

I'm not sure, but I think in version 8 there was a scrollbar which could ajust the cover-size. Did they really forget that in version 9? Or what could the reason be, to not include such a basic feature?

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  This software is great. THANK YOU! Now I don't have to buy a new printer. (Just because the manufacturer (HP) is to lazy to supply new drivers and wants customers to throw away printers after 2 years.

Safari AdBlock
Aug 31 2009

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  It would be great, if Safari AdBlock had a feature to Import/Export custom filter-lists. I was using SafariBlock for years , but now I switched due to incompatibility with Snow Leapord. I'd love to import my manual filters but looking at SafariBlock, it doesn't seem to support exporting the data... Someone has to make start on this.

MONKEYJUNKEY  The new Safari AdBlocker 1.1 (which is a fork of the dead SafariBlock) has import AND EXPORT feature! Great, just what we all have been waiting for. Now it's easy to transfere personal block lists between several blockers (if only Safari AdBlock had an export feature itself. Can't be to hard to program, because the developer of Safari AdBlocker did it in one day just after the 1.0 release). Give it a try...

GPGMail
Aug 31 2009

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  SNOW LEOPARD WON'T BE SUPPORTED!

this is from the developer:

Dear Users,

Current version of GPGMail (1.2.0) is NOT compatible with coming Snow Leopard's Mail.

New Mail's internals changed a lot, like it did with all major revisions of Mac OS X, and as Apple doesn't give any documentation nor any support for such an unsupported plugin, developers have to work by trials and errors. Based on my experience of previous compatibility work, I can estimate that the workload to make GPGMail compatible with Snow Leopard is at least 40 hours, for me.

Unfortunately I no longer have spare time to do that work (I've always been working on GPGMail during my spare time, not during my work time).

Some people proposed their help, but at this time no one has been able to find enough time to actually do the work. For unexperienced people it will take much more time to do it.

In consequence, there will not be an update of GPGMail for Snow Leopard in the coming months, not even a beta version.

If serious people want to do the work, I will gladly try to help them as much as I can; just contact me.

I'm sorry to leave you without GPGMail on Snow Leopard; until someone does the port, you'll have to rely on Thunderbird and its Enigmail plugin.

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  Am I missing something, or is it impossible to use more than one audio-track for MP4-Conversion?

That's really a must. I want the original audio-track AND my native language. I guess this round goes to Handbrake which supports up to 4 different audio-tracks.

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  Whats up with this update?!?

I downloaded and installed it. First thing VLC tells me is: there is a newer version. Which would be 0.9.8a. It seems that I downloaded 0.9.8 from MacUpdate, although the description says 0.9.8a.

Come on guys. You can do better than that, can you?

NEONBLUE2  The VLC devs really need to get someone who can label the app correctly. You have 0.9.8a, it's just the application still identifies itself to the updater as 0.9.8.

Check the version using QuickLook.

THEKIDFROMTHEREDBANK  great app, BUT the development has been very slow! There are several bug e.g. the start-up-bug: the auto-start doesn't work, you have to start the app manually every time you want to use it. Which isn't very comfortable for an app supposed to run in the background ALL THE TIME and you shouldn't have to think about it being loaded.

Otherwise fine application but PLEASE with cream on top make an update soon.
