THE VALRUS Needs the option to import serials from another format, like CSV. I want to switch from RapidoSerial, but I'll be damned if I'm manually copying everything over. (Version 1.5.2)

THE VALRUS The site says it's $39 if you bought the app as part of a bundle, free if you have a standard license. It wasn't that hard to find: second paragraph on the "Purchase" page. Does that answer your question? (Version 3.0.1)

THE VALRUS I'm student teaching right now, and for making up worksheets and such, pure LaTeX is too time-consuming. I was using the old version of LaTeXit on Leopard, and services didn't work so I had to mess around with baselines. No fun. This update will be an absolute lifesaver for me. Services work again and everything is beautiful. Thanks so much. (Version 1.15)

THE VALRUS Revised review: Satisfactory. Looks nice, works well for what it's intended for (complex numbers are clearly not what it's intended for), clean and spiffy. I doubt I'm part of the intended audience but for what it is, it's a fine program. (Version 1.4.2)

THE VALRUS Good little app, but the interface needs work. The "configure drawers" window should allow drag-and-drop of items instead of the awkward up and down buttons, and there's no reason for the "close" button beneath the text box. Also, the "empty drawer" menu item should confirm when selected, as it's potentially destructive. Finally, having to go into another menu to copy an item to the clipboard is kind of unwieldy; it seems to me that selecting an item should copy it. Finally, the "copied object" used for images is practically useless if there's more than an item or two in the menu. (Version 1.0)

THE VALRUS Just wanted to also chime in about the Norton key combinations. Having them available is a nice thing, to be sure, but the Mac OS defaults should be available as well. People shouldn't have to rearrange their Expose keys just to use this app. (Version 1.1)

THE VALRUS When I try to add the feed with URL 'http://daringfireball.net/feeds/rss/********' (where the ******** is some numbers and letters which I can't reveal due to their having been obtained through a subscription), RSS Menu rejects it, telling me the URL must begin with 'http://' or 'https://'. What gives? It's a shame, because I'm dying to start using this exclusively for my RSS needs. So thanks for the speedy update; I'll be eagerly awaiting the next one since it seems the last one fixed most of the issues brought up here. Applause for the responsive developer! Now fix your program! ;) (Version 1.0.2)

IAN MCCOWAN Poorly said. Reviewer ignores legitimate uses of this software for security testing and uses an inaccurate and misleading Biblical metaphor. IAN MCCOWAN Had you bothered to read the readme or tried pressing "?" while playing (reasonably intuitive if you want help, I think), you might have found help files available in abundance. Angband's been around for 14 years, and for good reason; your inability or unwillingness to figure it out doesn't merit a one-star rating and probably reflects more on you than on the game. IAN MCCOWAN Oh geez, I just two minutes ago turned in a 10-page paper on two of the biggies of twelve-tone and serialist music: Schoenberg and Boulez, and I come back to find this at the top of macupdate's software list. Anyway, unfortunately, this isn't a review of this software; I think serial music was a bit of an aesthetic misstep. If this program could play the rows and their various permutations, I might be tempted to check it out; any chance of adding that as a feature? (Version 1.0)

MacPython | Apr 3 2004 |
Just to even things out, I disagree with Phil. I've been using Python for years; I've never had a problem accomplishing things that needed to be done with it, and Python code is some of the cleanest, most readable code around. I've tried to learn Perl but have never gotten far before deciding that I couldn't see any advantages that it had over Python. I'm no expert, but I'm extremely enamoured of Python. It works well and is stunningly easy to learn. I can't compare it to Perl but I can say that it's a powerful and useful language in its own right. (Version 2.3.3)
