OmniWeb
Jun 12 2008

TERSONO  I really don't understand your complaints about Omniweb's bookmarking system. I have over 2,000 bookmarks in Omniweb and do not have any problems whatsoever keeping them organised or adding to them as required. Certainly I find the bookmarking interface far superior to Firefox, albeit possibly not quite as well thought-out as Safari. (Conversely, Omniweb has a number of GUI advantages over Safari, so it evens out).

For what it's worth I've also been an Omniweb user since the early days (pre OS X), and whilst I abandoned it for Safari for a while, since v5 appeared I've increasingly found it hard to live with anything else...

TERSONO  1. WEB is not an acronym, so shouldn't be all caps.

2. This is just a generic FTP client - there's nothing specifically for web admin in here.

3. This is easily the WORST generic FTP client I've seen in the last 15 years. Clunky, ugly, slow, crashy and generally a pain.

Try Cyberduck, or better yet either Transmit or Interarchy - just anything but this.

TERSONO  Ridiculous price for such a simple product (no, it's not a typo - same price is on his web site). Even more OTT given that at least some of the functionality can be had from the likes of Quicksilver for free....

At $10 it would be worth downloading to try. At $50, I don't really care whether it's any good or not, sorry....

Coda
Oct 12 2007

TERSONO  D'oh. you've missed the whole point. Yes, you can use it as a BBEdit replacement if you wish, but it is so much more than that (and I'm speaking as a professional web developer and registered user of BBEdit since version 4).

Coda's strength lies in terms of workflow. Previously I'd have BBEdit (or latterly TextMate), Interarchy, CSSEdit, a finder window, at least one terminal window, Photoshop and Safari open continuously. Even with expose and dual screens, switching between apps becomes a pain in a hurry. Coda allows me to rationalise this down to two apps only; Coda and Photoshop, improving my productivity generally.
