SWEIN  Even tho this is rolled into Mail, you can also make the same functionality with Automator:

1) Get selected Mail Items

2) Save Image Attachments

3) Import into iPhoto

SWEIN  Very nice effort! I like the history-style editing actions. Add the ability to drag their order and save presets would be good.

BitWise IM

SWEIN  I don't understand this thing. It's like aim, where you have to log into THEIR server? No real administrator would do this, they want their OWN server app running locally for true security (ala Carracho/KDX). And on top of that, they expect people to pay per-head to use it?

KEVINBW  MacUpdate is a listing for BitWise Personal, which is free for personal use and it doesn't have any different architecture than any other major IM system.

On the Professional side (which seems to be what your comment is about), you'd be surprised how many smaller companies don't have the resources to host their own IM server. On a per-user basis, the cost is actually better than many services that you can buy.

As for the security, it's no less secure than something you host yourself--data is sent P2P and so, in an office setting, the data doesn't leave the LAN, just like having your own server.

It's certainly not the right solution for large companies (several hundred employees or more), but that doesn't make it worthless.

Thanks for your comments and listening!

ANONYMOUS  Getting better, but it needs to have the Mac OS color palate to be useful.

IAN HENDERSON  We're automatically importing the Mac OS X palettes into our palette (use the pop-up menu in the palette panel to select them). If you want to use the default color chooser, just double click on a color in the palette (to change that color), or single-click the color well in the tool picker (to use the color for drawing).

If you mean something else by "Mac OS Color Palette," could you please clarify?

ANONYMOUS  Kormak - you're giving it a bad review because you don't know how to use it? Yeah that makes sense.

People: ffmpegX is a FANTASTIC ripping tool, but you have to learn how to use it properly. It's not MEANT to be a E-Z N00B RIPPAR! You want simple and stupid, go use forty-two or dvd2one. You want high quality, use ffmpegx

ANONYMOUS  I can't believe there are so many Major bashers here. I tried all the other apps, but none consolidate and make ripping as easy and HIGH QUALITY as ffmpegX.

Crashes? Hard to use? Then clearly you don't know what you're doing. ffmpegX never crashes on me. I don't find it hard to use, because I know what all the functions do (I studied up and experiment). Now that ffmpegx has autocrop, I no longer have to go into any other app to do a rip (well besides osex to pull the vobs). And who the hell cares if he used applescript? It's just another coding environment. It's fast, it works.
