SW_REVIEWER  v7 creates a new folder called 'Previous iTunes Library' and backs your old playlist into it. You have to delete the new 'iTunes Library' and replace it with the backed up one taking care to name it as the one you are deleting

SW_REVIEWER  hold down the option (alt) key when emptying the trash

It sounds like you still have receipts in the receipts folder. I think I found 3 iTunes related receipts. I cant do more for you. If you do what I said you will install 6.0.5. Good luck

SW_REVIEWER  v7 makes a new Library and backs up the old one.

You need to replace the new with the old taking care to rename it the same as the one youre replacing. Delete the receipt in your main Library/Receipts folder and kill iTunes 7. You will then be able to re-run 6.0.5 pkg with all your music still in place

SW_REVIEWER  you also (of course) need to archive or dump the iTunes app itself from the Applications folder....then you need an archived copy of iTunes 6.0.5 pkg

SW_REVIEWER  bsb....open it and run it...you may like it. If you don't, you can always go back as outlined below.

river...its as I said before. Archive or delete the iTunes app....kill the iTunes receipt in the /Library/Receipts folder. Archive or kill the iTunes Library in your personal Music/iTunes folder....rename the 'previous itunes library' and put it where the new one was in your Music/iTunes folder. Run the iTunes 6.0.5 installer and all will be as it was before you installed version 7.

If any of the above worries you just archive everything without deleting and delete it after you know everything is working well

SW_REVIEWER  you are only deleting the new library. The pre version 7 one will still be there so your music will be retained. If you are concerned, just move it to the desktop so that you have it as a backup

SW_REVIEWER  iTunes Library at ~/Music/iTunes will also have to be deleted as v7 rewrites this. The previous version compatible with 6.0.5 is in a folder called 'Previous iTunes Libraries'

SW_REVIEWER  iTunes 7.0...hahaha!! I just retrograded to the previous version.

The masking of the main window in the corners wasnt finished properly (I have little white triangles).

The equaliser window button is now gone and when I try and launch thru the menu it won't launch.

I dont intend to use it for video content so I reckon I'm better off with 6.0.5. The app is now bloated beyond belief....iTunes 5.0 was 13.8mb and this one is now 25.4mb!

BSB_LOVER09  I would like to switch back to 6.0.5 as well, but I cant figure out how to do it. I found a download for 6.0.4 (which would have been fine for me) but when i tried to install, it said there was nothing to install. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

PGRILO  To downgrade your iTunes delete iTunes pkg found on /Library/Receipts/ and then run the installer again...

Hope that helps.

RIVER85  So after I delete the itunes package from library/receipts, what does it mean to "run the installer again" as a previous comment suggested? My itunes 7.0 keeps saying that it's analyzing tracks for "gapless playback information" and it then freezes my itunes at around track 850 or so... I just need to retrograde to 6.0.5 or fix this freezing problem. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

BSB_LOVER09  okay, so i made an archive of itunes just incase, downloaded the 6.0.5 installer, put itunes in the trash and when i try to empty it it says that iTunesHelper is in use. I dont even know what that is. I tried to install 6.0.5 without emptying the trash, but it says that there is nothing to install, just like before.

Kids GoGoGo X
Dec 2 2005
**...

SW_REVIEWER  This could be a great app BUT this app was installed by me Admin and when logging into another user space it works fine. When logging into another user space from cold, Kids GoGoGo is ineffective even when included as a startup item.

I have paid for my serial number after trialling but unfortunately this only came to light afterwards. The 1 second delay before displaying the filter screen bug was another issue I had noticed but didnt realise it could also disable the app if the scroll bar could be grabbed in time
