STUTEMP1  I believe the Windows screenshot was to help emphasize that this is a cross-platform capable app. Very handy and much appreciated, especially in a free "lite" form for home or non-professional, occasional use.

STUTEMP1  Why does this support every audio type EXCEPT mp3? This oversight pretty much makes it useless. Well not useless, but certainly very inconvenient as 99% of the audio files of 99% of the people are probably now in mp3 format and will have to be converted to use just for this one app. At least do like Audacity and make mp3 available if the user can download/install (or find their existing) mp3 system library.

TAMBASCOT  mp3 support had not been available because the Java Media Framework doesn't support it so brilliantly. As a sound designer myself, I try to avoid using mp3s wherever possible because they are a lossy format, so I certainly hadn't considered it "useless" without it.

However, the second beta release does include mp3 playback support.

STUTEMP1  Nice idea, and good that it doesn't eat CPU cycles, but why does it take 15Mb of RAM and 200Mb of virtual memory space just for a little menu app? (according to Activity monitor) For now I'll keep a folder of aliases in the right side of the dock.

SAMSOFTWARE  Are you on an intel machine? If so it may be because it was compiled on a PPC machine. It is either that or it may just be your machine for whatever reason, also is it using 15MB while it is idle or while it is launching an application? If you could send me an email of a screenshot of Activity Monitor showing this it would be very helpful.

****.

STUTEMP1  Good program, does what it says, easier than launching Activity Monitor for a quick app kill. Hasn't had any weird effects on my PB G4 or MacBook pro. I really miss the re-nice feature in the old ProcessWizard program which hasn't been updated in almost 5 years and is just PPC. So I'll stick w/ProcessWizard on the G4 and use XProcess1 on the new MacBook which has plenty of CPU for my apps.

STUTEMP1  This is a great little widget... love the design, and usability. We've had a spreadsheet to do the same thing for years, but this is just 'classy':-) Feature requests: how about a category selection? ex. high, med, low price? or casual, business, formal, for those times when you have some parameters that are required. Otherwise it may take several minutes of trying to get an acceptable choice, which defeats the whole purpose of saving time.
