This entry needs a screenshot that shows the software and not the huge logo of the company (or whatever that is). On my 12" iBook I cannot see what it looks like. Are the developers able to consider users who don't have their set-up?

Full disclosure: I'm very happy with Marsedit, but I'm always curious what's out there.

Yes, developers like this really need to get it together and add a blog to their sites, so that we know what's up.

I absolutely love Mailsmith. It's lack of IMAP support never seemed like a big deal to me until this year. Twice this year my computer was in the shop. In the interim I was faced with email chaos on four different websites or when trying to view them through an IMAP email client that thought all the email on the sites was new.

Switching to IMAP lets me prevent this kind of thing. It also lets me work between multiple computers. I do so miss Mailsmith's advanced features, but they do me no good when faced with switching computers. Here's hoping I don't switch back to Mailsmith for the wrong reasons again. IMAP seems like a small thing until you suddenly must use a different computer than your own for several days in a row.

This app has been serving me well since the OS 9 days, and it made the transition to OS X nicely. Buy it while it's cheap! :-)

I know that $18.00 seems pricey, but I bought this back in 2000 and it has paid for itself many times over. It is simple and it works. Updates have come as necessary, so I never missed it during any of the Mac OS transitions over the years.

It works nicely, and it is easy to adjust the settings. The website is a bit much, I agree. I could not find out, for example, what the upgrade fee was to move from 3 to 4. But they answer their email and are friendly.

Nice app, but it only handles parenthetic citations, not footnotes. For that the only option is still Bookends.

Hughmcmillan has a point, even if one should *always* check the final price of whatever one buys before one finalizes a purchase.
