STEPHAN LINKE I could give you the actual commands executed by the program during the conversion. Guess that's all you need? (Version 0.6)

STEPHAN LINKE I guess, there won't be a version for powerPC since I only have an intel based mac. Maybe I'll add support for it, but don't get your hopes up :/ sorry (Version 0.6)

STEPHAN LINKE I'll have a look into a batch conversion (maybe this weekend or next week). Guess it will be like visualhub. But first, I gotta get DTS to work ;) (Version 0.55)

STEPHAN LINKE Is this the case for any MKV file you try to convert? If not, please provide specific information about the MKV file (make a screenshot from mkv4xbox with loaded infos and upload it) Please answer the following questions: 5. You want to split (yes/no)? 6. Do you enter the values by yourself or do you use get mkv info 7. How long does it approximately take until you get to the error? 8. How big is the .ac3 file? 9. How big is the .x264 file? 10. How far does it go? Do you have growl installed? It shows you the current progress (converting, muxxing ... ) Please give me some details, otherwise I can't reproduce the error. I tried the tool with many MKVs under any circumstance (weird filenames and paths and so on) and it always worked out fine. (Version 0.5)

STEPHAN LINKE Please provide more information :) Can you load the MKV into MKV4XBox, press the (get mkv info) button and give me a screenshot of it? You can upload it to tinypic or imageshack. What's the actual size of the MKV itself? Have you tried to use the original bitrates of the mkv file? You can do this by clicking get mkv info. The values will be set automatically. STEPHAN LINKE With this option, you're able to add subs as an extra track to the mp4 file. The subs aren't hardcoded, you can enable/disable them in VLC via menu "video" > subtitles > deactivate. But sadly, the xbox360 won't recognize the subtitles. From what I've read it's an encoding problem of the subs and they need to be converted into a special format. As if this wouldn't be enough, you need to patch the converted subtitles again. Maybe I'll add support for that in later versions, but only if it's actually possible :) I'm glad it's working for you now (or isn't it?), I applied some fixes to the handling of paths. STEPHAN LINKE Sorry for the faulty update (a path in the installer was corrupted). The version that is now online should work fine! Enjoy =) (Version 0.5)

OLC working? well, more or less. is something wrong with audio encoding. i chose 168kps (weird bitrate but whatever...) and it outputs a huge filesize... like double the size it ought to be... (Version 0.5)

OLC well, i am getting nowhere. no idea what it is doing. working folder has a x264, a ac3 and mp4. the mp4 is called audio.mp4 (same as audio.ac3). it keeps growing till i get an error about the "mv" command. i suppose audio is encoded on the fly and muxed to the video file. seems like it fails while trying to move finished file to its final destination... STEPHAN LINKE mkvextract always outputs to the user-folder, I haven't figure out how to set the output path for that. After the successful extraction the files get moved to the target folder. (Version 0.1.2.1b)

STEPHAN LINKE I fixed some path related hickups in the application (folder names with spaces didn't work). The paths are all quoted now, so there should be no path errors anymore. Tried it yesterday with files who had "´" and "&" in their names. There was no problem converting, even with spaces in the path. Maybe this one will work for you. Another thing that came to my mind - are the permissions for /Library/Application Support/MKV4XBox set correctly? Maybe MKV4XBox can't read /Library/Application Support/MKV4XBox/Tools/mkvpatch, which would explain the stalling after extracting. I use 777 for the MKV4XBox folder, maybe you can give it a shot :) (Version 0.1.2.1b)

STEPHAN LINKE 1. I think you're right. I'll try to set the application to ~/Library, but thats actually not really smart since every user on a machine will have it's own set of tools. 2. Can you try converting a file on your local harddrive? Set your target folder to your Desktop for example and copy the mkv to your internal harddrive. Maybe the timeout is too low for external drives. Gotta look into this. But the /Library/Application Support/MKV4XBox does indeed exist, right? Including the directories "Tools" and "Frameworks" (Version 0.1.2b)

STEPHAN LINKE If you're non-privileged, then you're unable to create the directory for MKV4XBox in the /Library/Application Support/ directory of your drive. Maybe I should consider copying it to ~/Library, gotta try this at home first. How big is the MKV file you're trying to convert? If I remember correctly (can't look at the source now), the timeout for extracting is set to 3600 seconds (=1h). This shouldn't cause the error. Maybe your drive just "sleeps" after a while so mkvextract can't finish? Please try the following: 1. Use your Desktop as target folder 2. Copy the MKV to your local drive and use it as source file The /Library/Application-Support/MKV4XBox directory and it's tools+frameworks does indeed exist, right?

STEPHAN LINKE 1. What error do you get while setup? 2. What directory are you using as target folder? 3. What's the path to the source file? It may be stalled because of the switcheroo of audio and video track inside the mkv. Can you look into the file with MKVToolNix and tell me how the tracks are arranged? Currently MKV4XBox assumes track 1 as video and track 2 as audio. Please be more specific so I can have a detailed look at the errors :) (Version 0.1.2b)

STEPHAN LINKE As I just stumbled upon this very annoying bug, I can confirm the 2gb error. It just hangs, even with the newest 0.4.6-DEV (if it is the newest). Gotta find an alternative to mp4box (or a version that's working ;) ) *sigh* (Version 0.1.1)
