CardRaider
Sep 22 2008

SPLORP  The demo version of CardRaider was able to locate salvageable images that EXIF Untrasher missed. Based on that point alone, I will purchase CardRaider. The current MUPromo discount sealed the deal.

ICeCoffEE
Aug 15 2007

SPLORP  Please take the comments from “DONMONTALVO” and other anti-APE worrywarts with a healthy grain of salt. I’ve used ICeCoffEE (plus a half dozen other APE modules) for years without any stability, reliability, or compatibility issues. Don’t fall for the FUD blindly. Install, play and test for yourself and come to your own conclusions. ICeCoffEE is super handy and a solid system enhancement.

Default Folder X

SPLORP  What an impressive list of fixes and enhancements ... for an already useful utility. Even a little interface change, like hiding the toolbar when moving an Open or Save dialog, makes an amazing amount of difference in terms of user perception. Nice work, folks. A highly recommended update.

SPLORP  I contacted Insider Software regarding release notes for this version (3.2.2), as I wanted to know whether is was a required update or not. Here is what the developer said via email:

"It is not necessary to install this version as this version resolves installation problems for localized French users. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you."

Mailings
Mar 24 2006

SPLORP  Unfortunately, Mailings does not support the combined sending of plain text and HTML formatted e-mail using multi-part MIME encoding. That makes it a no-go for me. Looks solid enough for rich content e-mail on its own... but I hate to leave any potential recipient off the list. Some folks still have text-only e-mail clients... really.

Mailings
Mar 24 2006

JPPAGLIARO  Hi,

Mailings does indeed support the sending of plain text and html using multi-part mime.

The feature is called a "Plain text alternative" which can be added to any HTML based email using the "Open message editor..." button at the top of a Mailer window.

After you click that pop-up select "Plain text alternative" and type your plain text message into the text field.

The message you enter will be included in the email message as a new mime part.

IntelliMerge

****.

SPLORP  I would certainly recommend IntelliMerge because it does a great job of sending mass email, with the specific ability to delivery properly formatted multi-part MIME messages. However, I agree with many of the previous comments regarding the lack of documentation. Likewise, there are never any release notes from version to version. What does this revision fix? Who knows...

Application Switcher Menu
May 30 2005

SPLORP  One of the major selling points of ASM is less about trying to be a replacement for Expose and more about returning the functionality to a familiar location within the interface. Many of us who used System 6 through OS 9 became used to having the application menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen. I use both Expose and ASM - it's the best of old school and new school.

Note: Although the Audioscrobbler plug-ins page list the current version as 0.7.5, the current version of iScrobbler is 1.0.1
