SOUNDMAN Yes, this morning, the only thing Safari will download is a file named, 27604.html, which is a redirect back to the iTubex page on MacUpdate. I've seen this behavior on a number of app. pages in the past. What I normally do is go to developer's website and download from there. But your website has a redirect back to MacUpdate....Catch 3.7! Great app. - previous version seemed a little buggy, so I was looking forward to this release. I will definitely purchase at some point. P.S. I have a pretty normal setup with Safari. Have downloaded hundreds of apps. from MacUpdate in the past.

MACUPDATE ADMIN I just now downloaded the file (using Safari Version 3.1.1 (4525.18) in 10.4.11) with no issues. I access the MU server(s) just as anyone would, nothing special. (Version 3.7)

MACUPDATE ADMIN I only downloaded the file to ascertain that it was downloadable as that is part of my job here at MacUpdate: I am a MacUpdate Admin as my posted name states. (Version 3.7)

AudioFinder | Jun 23 2008 |
SOUNDMAN Been using this app. for 3.5 years. I produce computer music, with a rather complicated hardware setup, the 'core' of which is an 8 core MacPro and a total of 11 hard drives (samples, scratch, users folder, archive, backup, etc.) AudioFinder is my 'go to' app., the glue that holds my operation together, because it is multifaceted in use and enables me to locate, preview, move, edit, batch process and keep up to date the many audio files (at least 150 gigs worth) I have, and which are spread out over several hard drives and many cd's and dvd's. Developer stays way on top of things. I only wish some of my other audio software was as reliable, efficient and bug free. Not for the dilettante, it is a Glock among 38 specials. (Version 4.7.9)

SOUNDMAN Hey, I've been using this great little app for years. Glad to see that developer is still supporting it. Worth a good $20 in my opinion! (Version 2.8b)

SoundConverter | Nov 29 2007 |
SOUNDMAN My previous comment about this application has been deleted. Why is that and who did it? This app. is one of the jokes of the internet. I download every supposed new version just for the laugh it gives me to open it up and give it a simple aifc or aiff file to convert to wave or mp3. Of course, it doesn't work. I get my laugh and trash the app. That's the way you've got to view SoundConverter.....it's a joke! (Version 20071129)

SOUNDMAN I wrote to Intego support 3 times about which encryption algorithm they were using and they never replied back. What the hell does 'industry standard encryption' mean? Do they think we're stupid? (Version 10.4)

iDefrag | Oct 1 2007 |
SOUNDMAN Been using iDefrag for about a year now. Used to use TechTools or DriveGenius but I used to notice that when I would defrag in DriveGenius and then check for fragmentation in TechTools (optimization tool), there would still be areas that were still fragmented. I tried out iDefrag and never went back! Gives you much more info on what is happening with your disk. Many more optimation options. It's fast, effective and hassle free. So now I start with DiskWarrior to make sure directories and files are A-OK and then go on to iDefrag. I do this once a week and ALL my drives are trouble free. Why once a week? I work with audio files and when I compose, I am using 6 drives at once. Users folder is on a separate drive. Sample audio on another drive, record onto a scratch drive. Current projects on another drive, etc. There's a crazy debate about whether defragmening is necessary at all on OS X. No doubt at all in my mind that it IS. And beyond that, OPTIMIZATION, which is putting directories in their proper order on the drive. Now, I have a performance setup. Use 10,000 rpm Raptor drives for the OS and scratch drives. When all drives are optimized, it's like driving a Jaguar and I am happy. This developer is seriously talented and has my thanks! (Version 1.6.2)

Security_Key | Aug 4 2007 |
SOUNDMAN Just as there are different degrees of security, there are different levels of users (from novice or technically indifferent to power users). This utility could easily find it's niche somewhere in there. Perhaps a touch more magnaminity would be in order from casual reviewers. There is an art to reviewing, just as developing software is an art. I think a possible way to overcome the single boot mode would be to encrypt the daemon, and then on the key, install a script to decrypt on the fly as the system was booting up (though this would take a fair amount of craft but, where there is a will....). Or if not, settle for a lower level user niche. I certainly encourage creativity...who knows what the end result could be? (Version 1.0)

SOUNDMAN Just wanted to say that, indeed, version 2 did generate copious amounts of crash reporting. I was not surprised when I saw v. 2.01 today. Glad to see developer on top of it. (Version 2.0.1)

Nocturne | May 12 2007 |
SOUNDMAN I compose music and I've been using the apps. Uno and Think to control my screen environment. I am trying Nocturne now to see which app. or combination thereof will be most optimal. For me, the criteria are: concentration (less distraction), diminished glare and system compatability. I'll checkin in a few days after I have some "concrete" results. (Version 1.0)

Amazing Maze | Jan 15 2007 |
SOUNDMAN Great little app. I am an e-musician and if you really get into that scene, you see that it is all dominated by the 'tyranny of the groove'. So much crap in 4/4 time, loop-a-dupe....It's just really refreshing to hear the intelligent chaos this software produces. I feel my sonic pallette cleansed. And to be able to have a hand in controlling the unpredictable results! Yeah, I'll throw out a web of unpenetrable, post-GarageBand soniphrabletonica! (Version 2.0)
