SONICDEVIANT  If I change my profile pic on Twitter then I just get blank icons for myself in Tweetie. What gives?

SONICDEVIANT  You can apparently use it with Leopard with a little trickery:

possible way to use it with OSX 10.5 Leopard (New)

By: Thomas Niepraschk (niepi) - 2008-01-11 07:52

Hi,

i found a way to use it with Leopard, but ist not a very elegant way, but it works.

1. enable ftp sharing for a folder /Users/$user/calendar (only you should have access to this folder)

2. share your calendar to "ftp://127.0.0.1/calendar/" username and password from your account

now iCal will deploy a ics-file for this calendar to this directory

3. setup gcaldaemon as usual to sync this ics-file with your google calendar

SONICDEVIANT  For those among you who are more tech savvy (i.e., you're not afraid of the Terminal), give GCALDaemon a try. Works great and is FREE!

SONICDEVIANT  Great idea but too much money. For those who are a little Terminal savvy, you might try GCALDaemon...which is free.

USER NAME  I used to use GCALDaemon too and loved it...

Unfortunately it doesn't work in Leopard.

SONICDEVIANT  Try GCALDaemon if you're even a little savvy in the Terminal. It's free and works great! Plus, it does more than sync your calendars!

SONICDEVIANT  I've always had trouble with the .Mac syncing. So I chose the free Journler--more features (including blogging), and it's $40 cheaper (FREE)! Use this with Keychain Access and you're in business.

***½.

SONICDEVIANT  I like the app, but it the Quick Input F-key keeps saying:

"Yojimbo could not communicate with the Quick Input Helper."

Nothing I've tried seems to fix the error.

SONICDEVIANT  I finally fixed this problem. Solution: Close Yojimbo, move ~/Library/Application Support/Yojimbo to Desktop, reopen Yojimbo, close it again, return the above folder to its original position.

Now Quick Input Panel works again...go figure.

However, .Mac syncing hasn't worked. I'm hoping this will fix it too.

****.

SONICDEVIANT  Forget all the negative reviews listed below. These folks either have unstable systems or, more likely, they don't know what they're doing.

Yes, you can hurt your system, so if you're clueless about the underpinnings of the Dock and Spotlight (and other settings this utility affects), use the app at your own peril. Treat it like a simplified Terminal shell...you can do MORE damage in the Terminal than with this app if you're unedu-mac-ated.

SONICDEVIANT  This is a great FREE product. I recommend that all users send a donation via PayPal to the developer for all the hard work and frequent support/updates.

I donated for Onyx, and I'm very grateful to all donationware and freeware developers (I'll gladly send them money any day over other similar shareware devs that often ask ridculous license fees). This app is much better (and cheaper) than crap like Cocktail.

So SUPPORT freeware and donationware!
