SMORR  The upgrade to MiniMail is $4.95 for all MiniMail 1.X users. I had sent out coupons and upgrade notices to all the registered 1.X users and I had included notice of the upgrade price in press releases I sent to prMac and various other sites.

If you wish to upgrade at $4.95 ($8 off the new $12.95 price) contact me from our website.

SMORR  MailTags 3.0 will be a paid upgrade.

MailTags has gone through 3 years of free maintenance releases and a major system upgrade from Tiger to Leopard for free, so I need to start charging upgrades for the tremendous amount of development time required for keeping the plugin up to date.

That said, I am arranging a scheme by which existing users will be able to update for free. I will provide more details when this is fleshed out more.

SMORR  Sorry -- MacUpdate automatically updated my listing and it escaped my notice that it said 10.5+, implying 10.6.

In my defense, my release notes do state that it isn't 10.6 compatible but snow leopard compatibility will be coming next week. It needs a little more testing to make sure that it is bug free.

SMORR  I had to pull rule sync late in the development process but it is in the works for 2.1

If you need to synchronize rules you can do it manually by moving ~/Library/Mail/ActOnRules.plist

I am afraid it is not the best solution but if you edit rules infrequently, it will do the trick.

SMORR  We are currently resolving a conflict with both WideMail and LetterBox -- This has been the issue for a few people

This stems from a version mismatch of Sparkle -- the automatic update engine.

SMORR  I will be posting an update this weekend that fixes this.

To uninstall manually simply remove the MailActOn.mailbundle file from ~/Library/Mail/Bundles.

SMORR  It works fine on my end with Mail.Appetizer 1.3b1

(I am assuming you are running Leopard right?)

I cannot download MailRecent -- it seems to be off line.

And of course it works with MailTags2

Email me directly (smorr@indev.ca) and lets see if we can solve your problems.

SMORR  Wow! The speed is pretty incredible -- all this time, I thought the slowness of VNC in CotV was due to network bandwidth issue. JFVNC proves this completely wrong. -- That the client is the bottleneck and not the network is a revelation.

Sticky Windows

SMORR  I bought the app and I think it is great but I REALLY HATE the preferences interface -- can't find things-- a preference panel should be functional and easy to use, not "pretty" -- I don't want to play hide and seek with my settings.

I wish the developer would provide the option of having a straight forward interface here.

MISTERLISTER  Totally agree.

While amusing to look at once, this is by far the worst prefpane i have ever seen. Save the fancy gfx for the app, not the prefpane.

I used to use this, back when it was a standalone app, and loved it. I figured i'd try the newest version, and was so put off by the nonstandard prefpane i almost immediately uninstalled it.

Fortunately for the dev, i recall the usefulness of this, and will try to set the prefs right the first time, so i never have to face that awful mess.

Sorry bro, i know that took some effort to make, but ewwww.

AKROBAT  I found it a fairly usefull piece of software.

Haven't had any of the issues I've been reading about below... for me it works fine.

However since I've WindowShade installed for a long time it sort of makes Sticky Windows redundant. I only seem to realise Sticky Windows is there if I accidentally drag something to the side.

As for the pref pane... well, it's different if somewhat creative. Again I had no problems navigating around. I'm not sure what all the whining is about from the other posts - complaining ninnies! They sound like ex-Windows users who can't handle any other way of doing things. Jesus, just lighten up will you - he's trying something different!

SMORR  The problem with High priority is that it is mucking about in an ical datafile which could cause problems, especially when high priority updates when ical is running. For example, if you set a Todo in high priority while ical is running, ical won't see it. if you change ical items, it may overwrite the high priority items. I plan to work on a way to do what high priority does when ical is not running but to use appleevents (as it does now) when ical is running.

****.

SMORR  An excellent app for teaching basic programming concepts to beginners. I used in my Grade 8 class room and found it much better for sequencing statements and explaining branching and loops than other environments such as microworlds.

However, the app is plagued by minor bugs (unexpected quits, can't select objects after placing them, thinks flowcharts are incomplete when they are) Fortunately, a save and relaunch of the app takes care of the bugs. Also the app has several feature deficiencies. Could use:

* a print function,

* the ability to TRULY copy and paste (often parts get left out, hard to paste and place where you want thing),

* the ability to clean up the flow links

* the ability to save individual subroutines and import them into other flowcharts

* the ability to select multiple blocks and group and move them.

* the ability to closely tie grounds with programs (ie when loadin a program, it loads a concordant ground)

* the ability to set(program) new purposes for the robot and tie these with grounds or programs.

The developer is open to helping people out.

INDEV  Thanks for your comments and review Tim. I am putting the finishing wraps on version 1.1. which addresses most of these options. And it also takes care of a nasty bug that was greatly affecting people using IMAP accounts.

Should be out by the end of the weekend.

Tim Springer Said:

A configuration panel with a few options might be a nice addition in a future version. For example, it would be nice to have a way to customize the hotkey used to activate the shortcut list. It would also be helpful to be able to control how long this list is displayed (currently it's five seconds) and to specify whether or not notifications are displayed each time a rule is executed.
