(mac pro upgrade kit) also i'd like to see GPS integration since istumbler is not getting regular updates and kismac is pretty useless since they moved to switzerland and their database for GPS/wifi is offline... i hope these guys develops a kick ass stumbler than can do GPS/wardriving and all the other things we want to be able to do on our mac...

SMOKEONIT since when can itunes paly divx/xvid files??? you need to convert the downloaded torrents, which are xvid/divx/.mkv to mpeg4/h264 in order to view them in tunes... only front row via QT plugins can view other codecs like xvid and hte others... perian handels those files well, but 1280x720 .mkv's are not well received my perian, that must be a bug... bummer...

SMOKEONIT with .mac everything is easy, online publishing and syncing your contacts with .mac and others... if you absolutely don't want to get .mac give this a try... but the .mac yearly fee includes online space and all those little perks like iphoto and imovie integration... and with the new 10/20/30GB online space offering the $/€99 a year seems very good to me... for my part i'm glad to be a .mac member after using plaxo for a little while... and hte goodies are not free either with plaxo, and plaxo lacks the sharing/website/iphoto/imovie/idisk integration that .mac offers... for my part this is no go, but please try it out and judge for yourself... the whole approach seems so windows compared to apple .mac, i just had to post this and i really don't want to bash this approach, i just think that it could be and was done better if you look at .mac...

TEXINICK What you describe is true to a point. I was in fact a .mac subscriber for a couple of years, but this year I let that drop. Mainly because I didn't like being 'forced' into the @mac.com email address. I have my own email address, and for some insane reason, .mac does NOT let you specify this as the sending/reply to address. I think you could do it manually, but no one wants to set it everytime they send an email. It made me realise that if I couldn't afford to renew, or they suddenly jacked the price up, I would lose all access to my email, and would require the whole tedious process of letting everyone know again. I never really used the idisk, and I had stopped using iWeb in favour of RapidWeaver. There wasn't really much else I used, or at least, nothing that I felt was worth paying the money for. I tossed this all up, and decided to go with a gmail account as that could pick up every email account I had, and lets me send from any of them. There are no lock-ins to use their mail service (even Yahoo make you pay if you want to access via POP or forward the email to another address!). So for me, Plaxo is a reasonable alternative that integrates nicely into the address book at a nice price :^)

SMOKEONIT with network monitor it eats a lot of processor speed. like 5-10%... i run it on my macbook pro... network monitor turned off little snitch uses a little more processor than the old version... overall i like the version very much...

FRACAI Just add your own override list which allows all traffic to the given servers. Then whenever something is blocked, look up the PG logs and figure out which ip is the culprit. Add it to your override and try again.

ALF WATT Please send bug reports to help@istumbler.net, we're happy to help out! Bluetooth GPS support is definatly not the most stable portion of iStumbler. I only have an Alps Bluetooth GPS to test with so it's impossable to verify what's happening with the Belkin gear. Upgrading to Tiger has made most of these issues easter to deal with, at least for me.

BUGRA unfortunately vlc is not fully compatible with 10.4 If you enter fullscreen, you can watch your movie, but after that, if you go back, vlc crashes. Because of that, if you need to control the movie, just press F10 to expose, and bring the controller to the front.

ANDY This really annoying... Adobe seems to have abandoned those of us who bought CS1 while still supporting those who bought Elements 3. I'm not saying that spending £500 should get you a better level of service and support than if you spent £70 but you'd should at least get the same... Planning on buying a Nikon D50 (for my wife) and a D200 (replacing my aging D100) means I'll have to upgrade to CS2... Adobe don't seem to care... doesn't bode well for the Adobe/Macromedia merger... we'll probably get no support at all...

ANONYMOUS You use the DNG converter to convert your files to DNG. Photoshop CS can read a DNG. That's how you do it. There's some "plumbing" in CS2 that Camera Raw needs that CS doesn't have. That's why the newest Camera Raw won't work in CS.

SMOKEONIT i have problems with photos in 16x9 mode that are squeezed, in 4x3 mode they're shown allright. another bug is when i try to access media files on my external lacie FW HD, eyehome sort of crashes, first i gets slow, then i dooesn't play movies @ all on HD, then i refuses to work @ all... the webbrowser needs some major workover... it displays way to big, @ least on my 42"... i find it very hard to scroll, preferences for font size n' stuff would be much appreciated... also rss feed support. is there hope for aac drm files support??? it kind of sucks that i can't play back my iTMS files on i home and have to switch to airtunes to do that...
