Sorry you seem to be having problems with the app. With regards making sure you're getting the right URL, go to the iPlayer home, click on a program; the link you get sent to is the link to copy into the program. That's it! If it's not downloading, one of three or four things is happening. 1) It's a very new video, and the BBC haven't gotten aroud to uploading the file we need for download; they usually take a few hours before they'll actually work. Try an older file (like: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b00b1ns9.shtml?src=ip_potpw) to see if that works. The one I put just there DOES work here) 2) Your firewall/security software isn't allowing iPlayer Downloader from connecting. My Little Snitch comes up and asks me every time I launch it if I want to allow it (and it's Ruby script too!) to connect. Maybe your firewall is blocking scripts running from programs? 3) You're running Tiger. This app won't run on OS X 10.4. I just released a beta edition (hence why this is on the top of MacUpdate again, but the mods seem to have removed the second download URL!!); check it out on the Sourceforge project page: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=225401 You may need to check if you have Ruby installed if you're running tiger, since I'm not 100% sure about when Apple started bundling ruby with OS X. Hope that helps. (Version 1.1) |
