I know, and I love your site for that. I frequently do download right from MU but for this one, I was curious to see if the registration thing was still a requirement since the post about it was from a few months ago.

the download page for this product is returning a "page not found" error on their website. even if I was willing to register, it seems as if I can't download this anyway.

it works well at first. I have my dock set to left side, "start", which means that it appears at the top of the screen, running down the left edge. I also have the dots replaced with triangles. when I plug in my second monitor, and then unplug it, the dock is now returned to the middle of the screen (still on the left) but the triangles are now at the top! and even weirder, the dock itself is not functional; the blank spaces next to the triangles at the top of the screen are what I must click on to use the icons in the dock. if I restart the dock, it's all back to normal and the dock is back to the top. this should be fixed in this otherwise great program.

read this page, and the comments below the announcement.

http://www.tuaw.com/2007/10/28/unsanity-urges-customers-to-make-sure-ape-is-current-before-upgr/

to quote the comments:

"APE works by intercepting system calls and working with what it thinks are statically assigned libraries and memory allocations. The very security feature of Leopard, randomly assigned memory allocations for libraries, and sandboxing was meant to keep (illicit) applications from doing this. And now APE doesn't work, because the security holes it was exploiting to function aren't there anymore. Of course, since it is a 'legitimately' installed application (it is already in the kext folder, along with proper permissions) not code being executed from a buffer overflow, it is hanging the system.

(And btw, how did they not have a build of 10.5 running and working on their systems, they should have known this wouldn't have worked atleast by september's build, as I doubt apple turned on these security features last minute)"

I've been using WindowShade forever, and I hate when stuff minimizes to the dock as much as the next nerd, but this makes me doubt if it will ever come to Leopard. Sure, Unsanity gets low marks from many people, and they may or may not be right, but it seems that the underlying technology that makes WS work has been eliminated in the new Cat. we'll see...

great, no problem. I'll leave it as-is and keep loving it.

I use a two-monitor system, with my desktop spanned, and this awesome (really, it's amazing) screen saver only seems to show on the main monitor. any ideas of how to make it pop up on both? (but not spanned... I'd prefer it to show the same thing on both monitors, like other screen savers I've used). thanks!
