SCOTTDB  Yeah, it appears to be a FileVault only issue. I installed it without incident on my second non-FileVault desktop.

SCOTTDB  Yeah, same problem here to. However, here's a workaround: Open Disk Utility and create a disk image with a volume name of the disk the installer is requesting. For example; if your user account / home folder is called "joeblow" create a disk image with that same name. As soon as it mounts on the desktop, the installer will continue and installation will succeed.

SCOTTDB  Perfect CHM reader.

Cocoa, tabs, fast, simple interface, SEARCH!

Well done. I'll be donating shortly.

SCOTTDB  As a frequent MacUpdate visitor, I see the app listed several times per week.

I always appreciate a diligent developer who updates their products regularly, but does a genealogy application really need to be updated three times per week?

Sometimes, it seems more like an effort for free publicity, than anything else.

RCN  Umm, that's exactly what he was talking about. I'm a happy MacFamily Tree user, but I don't need to know through MacUpdate when every single build is released in a beta cycle. Can you imagine how much of a mess it would be if EVERY program did this? If OmniGroup did this for every build of OmniFocus? If every build and Release Candidate of every point update to OpenOffice was posted? Etc. Post such build information on your web site or have it available through an automatic update process in your program - NOT through MacUpdate. It ends up muddying up the list and looks like a shameless attempt to keep the app in front of everyone's eyes.

SCOTTDB  Try deleting your font caches. I use Linotype Fontexplorer to manage my fonts. It has an option to delete application specific caches, as well as the system caches. Always fixes weird font issues for me, regardless of the application.

SCOTTDB  Excellent. This is the first piece of software that I've been able to find that will allow me to set EXIF dates for images that I have scanned. And the fact that I can add EXIF dates to a batch of images is great. I'll be making a donation. Well done!

SCOTTDB  Or, here's the direct answer:

Using Terminal:

java -Xmx256m -jar /Users/your home folder name/Downloads/glassfish-installer-v2.1-b32-darwin.jar

This changes the amount of memory used by the installer to 256MB.

Also, you'll want to change "your home folder name" to the appropriate name, and the installer name may be different too.

SCOTTDB  Nice software, but this item in the product's description is a bit questionable:

"Attach funky javascript actions to your page without having a clue what you're doing."

Great. Just what the world needs is more tools to enable people who don't know what they're doing.

"Funky javascript"? please spare me.

SCOTTDB  "...totally buzzword compliant mail server"?

Um, is that a new mail protocol in Leopard?

Since when where POP, SMTP, IMAP or whatever considered "buzzwords"?

Sorry, but that has to be the dumbest description for an application that I've ever heard.
