I use Version1 because I´m still on Panther. But its a very cool and useful tool especially i you work with a large Display/Resolution and/or Multi-Display-Setups!

I have to appologize. I said Bin-It uses around 25MB of Memory. Today I found out that the Application Enhancer was the Culprit for this. Without APE installed Bin-It (V.1.2.4) only uses 10MB of System-Memory!

Tried it, but didnt figure it out. Really hard learning curve and no good and easy documentation.

I agree with Rellimarual. Devon should invest in good docs.

I own a registered version o ViewIt for quite some time now. For me its a must-have Aplication. It is a really comfortable and fast Image-Viewer. ViewIt is an important part of my imaging-workflow. For Example: I use it to sort out bad and unusable photos when I came home from a photoshoot.

Give it a try!

Victorj: Just download and try it. its WAY different than Preview (and has a lot more functionality)

Some time ago I started to use a dualscreen Setup with my Powerbook and an external 17" CRT. Mainsceen on the left, Second screen on the right. Soon after this setup, one thing bothers me: Every time I want to drag something on the second screen into the Trash, I have to go all the way to the Main-Screen and there to the bottom-right corner where the trashcan was.

Then I found Bin-It and was happy. Finally I can put a second Trashcan on the second Screen that behaves almost exactly as the Finders Trash

If I drag Files onto Bin-It, it puts them into the Finders trash. If I click on it, It opens the Finders Trash. It is just like an extension to the original Trashcan.

To speak of it: It can even look like the original Trashcan. Actually you can choose from 9 different looks for the bin. You can even set the size and Transparency of it. (It would be nice if the user could make its own themes for it. Maybe in future Versions?)

Another nice Eyecandy is the "Trash Level" Bin-It can show you not only "Trash Empty" and "Trash Full" like the Finder does, It changes its Icon also on "25% Full" and "75% Full" so you have an overview how many MB your Trash is suckung up on your Hard drive.

There is a setting for this too. You can deactivate the Trash-Level if you want (So it just shows empty and full) or you can activate it and even can set the size treshold for the "Full Trash" Icon between 10MB and 100MB. (Yes 100MB max. so, if you work heavily with videos, music or other large files, you will almost never see the 25% or 75% Status Icons)

Another Plus: It runs on Panther and I have never seen it crash!

But, yes, there is a dark side on it:

It seems to suck up 25MB of the systems memory. 25MB just for a Trashcan? Seems strange to me. Yes, I know, the amount of equipped memory in every Computer increaes, but what if you´re using an older Mac with less equipped memory?

Anyway. I really like Bin-It. Its one of my "Start on Login" Apps and REALLY makes using my Powerbook more comfortable for me.

This App is great. I´m waiting for a long time for a pricedrop or a promo to buy it because i think 14.95 is to much for it. Now it´s here for an acceptable price and I´m still thinking of the buy. Why? In the meantime I really get used to Namely as App Launcher....

But anyway...I really love Overflow and think this is a great app. Buy it for this price as long as you could ;)
