Type: CommentsDate: 3 Feb 2008 11:35No, no ... I'm aware that installer.app requests root privileges to install in many instances and, in these cases, the alert states that installer.app is requesting that you enter your password (without requesting your administrator name) in order to install.
I'm talking about something else, here. As I was being guided through the installation and reached the last stage and clicked on "install", a window was displayed stating that I have to enter name & password of an administrator so that changes could be made to Installer.app.
It seems, however, that the developer has fixed the issue as I downloaded & installed this package today without having this problem.

Type: ReviewDate: 22 Jan 2008 20:51SUCH A GREAT APPLICATION !!!
Works as described. The developer was thinking about making it a widget - please don't wast your time as everyone would use the "Quit automatically" option which doesn't suit a widget. I wish the developer would create a sister application which would be able to quit any application after a certain amount of time. This would be especially useful for quitting VLC and the likes when listening to internet radio that iTunes doesn't support. Many, many thanks.

Type: CommentsDate: 8 Dec 2007 12:33There are four other alternatives to view lyrics:

Type: Hint/TipDate: 7 Dec 2007 02:51This package installs "PDF Booklet" Automator action in HD/Library/Automator and "PDF create Booklet" workflow in HD/Library/PDF Services. However, if you have an older version it will not replace these items so you must trash them manually beforehand.

Type: CommentsDate: 6 Dec 2007 21:35Thanks to the developer. Now we have four alternative places to view lyrics (apart from iTunes/File/Get Info/Lyrics):

DesktopLyrics - directly on the desktop without a window.
Cover Version - in an iTunes Visualizer.
The decision is yours!
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 4 Dec 2007 23:03Thank you very much for your reply. It is also possible to move this widget, like any other one, from the widget bar to the desktop by clicking and holding the widget in the bar, pressing the F12 key and then releasing the mouse button (for other users - the next time you prompt the dashboard, the widget is swept back into the dashboard layer). The problem with both methods - DevMode widget & the one I have described here - is that the surrounding lights appear above the menu bar and even above the Dock. However, your suggestion is perfect for hanging lights.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 3 Dec 2007 13:25I'm sure it would be appreciated by all users if the developer could add an option for surrounding lights like Festive Lights widget. This would make this application perfect.
![]()
Type: Hint/TipDate: 3 Dec 2007 11:23Read the included Readme and then download Festive Lights widget. This widget comes with two light sets but you can download more through it.
The light sets you will find in User/Library/Application Support/Festive Lights/Lightsets are folders containing "on" and "off" sets of bulbs in .png image format. This should give you an interesting idea!
![]()
Type: Hint/TipDate: 3 Dec 2007 10:59Use this widget if you want to decorate the Dashboard. For those of us who want to decorate the desktop - download MacLampsX for surrounding lights or/and XMasLights for hanging lights.
The light sets in User/Library/Application Support/Festive Lights/Lightsets are folders containing "on" and "off" sets of bulbs in .png image format. You can download more through the widget. Read XMasLights's Readme - it should give you an interesting idea!
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 30 Nov 2007 23:29AVOID THIS APPLICATION!
ResizeIt 2.0.1 size is only 296 KB and it has more features, e.g. saving in different formats, than this application the size of which is about 8 MB. I also didn't like the email feature which require you to put in your mail server details, email address and your password - why that? The email button should simply open your default email application. Something is fishy here.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 30 Nov 2007 22:31Works fine on my iMac Intel 10.4.11. Thank you, developer, for making it compatible with tiger again.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 28 Nov 2007 20:53I think this application is invaluable especially at the workplace when you are the only user of the computer.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 27 Nov 2007 08:27Just noticed three small problems:
1. Sometimes using search isn't successful for whatever reason, so obviously the user will utilise another method to find the lyrics. However, once the lyrics have been found, it is impossible to manually paste them into the edit window because an alert pops up telling you there aren't lyrics for the song and asking you to search first. Of course, it is possible to paste the lyrics directly into iTunes but I it would be more convenient if the application were to allow this type of pasting.
2. If you close the main window in error by clicking the red close button you can't reopen it unless you relaunch the application. The main window and the search window should both be listed under "Window" in the menu bar permenantly and when one or both of them is open a tick should appear in front of its name.
3. If you zoom the search window you cannot make it smaller again by clicking zoom, unlike the main window.
... but it's still the best application of its kind!

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 16 Nov 2007 15:27Just one small thing ... the open app shows the name qtimgsortv2 instead of ImageSorter in its menu bar.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 14 Nov 2007 22:20This is a brilliant idea but it should be built as an ordinary application and not a widget. The reasons are:
1. Prompting the Dashboard display all the widgets so one have to quit them all.
2. Even if you quit all the widget the dock still shows.
The application should have a full screen mode so the display would not sleep.

Type: ReviewDate: 31 Oct 2007 21:29A CRUCIAL ELEMENT IS MISSING
The developer should realize that the only purpose of installing an application like this one, is to use and control iTunes without seeing it's face i.e. it must open iTunes in "Hide" and have an additional menu item "Show iTunes" to enable the user to toggle. Otherwise we can simply launch iTunes from the dock and control it through itself! It is really a make or break situation.

Buddi plug-ins are not created by it's developer. If you would use Buddi without them it will never crash. I have been using it for the last few months on my iMac Intel 10.4.10 - without the plug-ins - and it never crashed.
You should not import data from your bank account into a personal finance application as this defeat the purpose of bank account management.
Bank account management means entering the every day transactions you make, e.g. issuing a cheque, into the personal finance application and then when the bank sends you a statement, reconciling the entries in the application with those on the statement.
Buddi is a double entry application so if, for example, you want to transfer money between bank accounts you record the transaction once and it post it to both accounts, debiting one and crediting the other.
In buddi, you can create unlimited income and expense accounts and thus, categories your incomes and expenses.
The current version of Buddi is the best free personal finance application.

If you use web fetch mail programs like Gmail, Yahoo! mail, Hotmail etc. in addition to Apple Mail, this application is a must have. The great thing about it is: when you shift-click on "Contact Us" in a website, on "Send Email" in the Address Book, on "Compose Mail" in Google Notifier etc. - a small window appears on your desktop where you can choose to use either Apple Mail or anyone of your web fetch mail programs. I'm writing this because I'm very surprised to see the small number of downloads and I can only assume it is due to ignorance.

Type: ReviewDate: 5 Sep 2007 13:04PRETTY USELESS.
What we need is to be able to choose a location from a drop down menu which will then automatically show the time zone, latitude and longitude of the location. It would be even better if the user could edit such a menu. If this is too much for a widget to store, let it fetch the information from worldclockr.com.
Clearly, if one knows the time zone of a location then one knows the time there which, in turn, makes this widget redundant.
