Type: ReviewDate: 8 Jul 2007 15:00I'm duplicating my review of Tinkertool System here, because this review is developer/support related. After using Tinkertool System for a few months, I did weekly maintenance and ran all the recommended processes religiously. Two weeks ago, after doing the same thing I did before, I experienced constant kernel crashes and freezes immediately following a Tinkertool session. I spent a few days trying to troubleshoot. I'm a moderately experienced user, so I did all the standard stuff- Diskwarrior, fsck, memtest, etc. All found nothing. I do regular backups using CCC, and so I cut my losses, saved my client data and cloned my hard drive from the last backup before Timkertool tinkered too much. That was three days ago, and no more problems.
Now, I'm sure Tinkertool is a good program, but the worst part came when I contacted the developer, Marcel Bresnik. He insisted kernel crashes are only caused by hardware problems, and called me a liar when I said my crashlogs were naturally reverted when I cloned from a backup, and would be of no use in troubleshooting. I asked for a refund, but then told him he could keep his $10 if it was too big a deal, to show him I wasn't lying to rip him off, and I would simply give honest feedback on Versiontracker. So there it is. And it's a shame, because it's probably a good program that needs improvement in a few areas, and the developer just happens to be a defensive ass. Oh well, back to Butler.

Type: ReviewDate: 6 Jun 2007 09:22I like this program, very useful. However, it does nothing to force update desktop item info (under the icon). The free space under a Volume reflects the info at Startup, and not the current. I've tried logout/relogin, relaunch the finder, etc. Nothing works. Any ideas?

Type: ReviewDate: 10 Apr 2007 10:28Excellent Widget. Works perfectly. Integration with Address Book is very nice. Not much more needs to be said. Well worth 3 bucks.
Only suggestion is to add an option to automatically insert a couple returns after the message to put a space between it and the advertising (http://live.sunrise.ch appears at the end of every SMS).

Type: CommentsDate: 11 Jan 2007 15:07I really like this application, but I have some requests/suggestions. I previously used Address Book Exporter, which ceased development before Jaguar was released. It allowed custom exports, in which it allowed you to select specific fields from AddressBook, and have them dumped to a CSV or TD or a simple list. I'd really love to see that here and I'd even pay for it. Here's the link to the old App if you're interested. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/9312

Type: CommentsDate: 11 Jan 2007 14:52I assume this project is no longer being supported, since there has been no update in a couple of years I believe. But I can't get it to export custom fields properly in panther. it grabs some addresses but not others.
