REALMERLYN  Works as it says on the tin! Finally, I don't need to borrow my brother's Windows laptop to activate or update my PRL. And the cool little GPS thing could be handy from time to time.

JOEL.SCHMIDT  actually, I don't think PRL updating is enabled yet, but then again, I don't think they have released a new PRL since summer, so I wasn't able to test it before I notified MacUpdate of this release.

REALMERLYN  "completed" tasks still show up in iCal. those should probably stop syncing.

BARTEK BARGIEL  have you turned on the setting 'sync pending tasks only' in preferences?

REALMERLYN  Yeah, I saw that later.

One more request: a "start date" so that I don't have a lot of tasks in my sync that I know I won't be starting for a month or two. (Yes, I have that many plans.)

REALMERLYN  I'm starting to like the looks of this, but before I can commit to it, I need to make sure I'm not putting my data into a "secret" database.

Can you assure us that you'll either (a) open source your code, or (b) provide an export facility so we can get our data back out?

BARTEK BARGIEL  sorry for no export feature yet - it will surely be there.

btw: don't forget that if you REALLY want to get your data back NOW... then just make all your contexts synchronizable to iCal, do a sync - and there they are: your tasks in iCal.

another possibility is: go to "To complete" tab, select all tasks and press Cmd+C. This will copy your tasks as plain text - with names, task notes and URLs.

hope I helped :-) thanks your comment!

REALMERLYN  Ahh yes, I guess that would suffice. OK, the only thing missing from KGTD (that I use) now is recurring tasks. Oh, and an applescript interface would be nice, but I know that's a heckuva lot of work.

REALMERLYN  "plutil -convert xml1 YourFileHere" works fine for me. If you're smart enough to know you want an xml file, you're smart enough to type that. :)

REALMERLYN  You're updating Apple software with non-apple software though. That sounds like you're in for a world of hurt when Apple also releases updates. I know we run into problems with people updating the built-in Perl with a newer version.
