RAY16  This might sound odd, I installed 7.3.1, when I went to startrek.com to play the clip of the day, and it seemed that QT dropped my cable connection. I tried ichat, no go, ym, no go, I even tried another webpage, still no connection.

Yes, sorry about this. You're right that it presently won't work on 10.3; we

will be releasing (another) update next week to fix that---it only happened

because we upgraded our build server to Leopard. The program code itself is still

10.3 compatible, it's just that the way it was built by the new developer tools

Unfortunately, G-Force 3.7.2 does not work with Mac OS X 10.3 (it's been a while since it became impossible to support 10.3 give G-Force's graphics requirements). When you enter your e-mail/license code on the download page, you need to download the older version, 3.1.3 that is specified for Mac OS X 10.3. Give that a try and let us know how you make out.

The only other con I can see is that it creates a 2nd folder as in the OS 8&9 days, but no big deal, just remember the use the new icon in the Dock etc.

For the issue of piggy backing, I say go for it! I've been doing it since '97, I go by the theory that if AOL goes down for any reason ( or nonpayment ) you still have your local ISP to get online. I have more then one browser if one acts up, and I also use AIM, for when I don't want to log onto AOL. I hope this puts the matter to rest. Relax and have fun out there guys.

RAY  I had used De, a few months ago, and it wasn't so great! Now unless I had done something wrong, when I used it, it made my drive abit wacky. Seemed to removed files in AOL etc. Damaged Norton's too. Just be careful.

Still had to do the workaround for 4.7.2, for OS 10.2.8 Jaguar. Once you follow it step by step. the upgrade should be easy. Mr. Davis has a great App. Don't prejudge it because of a bad file, namely the preflight file.

I also read that the issue will be fixed as of 4.2.3 when its released.

RAY  I have the same issue I had before, not being able to install the upgrade/or software period. I just emailed the Developer, posing the question that it may be an issue with the new way its installed, with a.pkg this this time around. I run the lastest 10.2.8 Jaguar. Other versions may have issues too, I wouldn't know that. I've been a a paid user since v4.5 and feel that SOX is a great app. I'll continue to use it to, and I feel that this issue will be overcomed.

I read your piece with interest, seems to me that your Hard Drive may have a few issues of its own! Some computers are only as good as they are maintained. You seem to be in an OS rut, its not a bad thing, I was on OS9 for years before I moved on to OS X. First, if you have Norton's use Disk Doctor, or whatever you may have. I have a PowerMac 9500 and a G3 B&W, and maintaine them ever week.

RAY  Just read the release notes* at one point it is said that it will work with the rage 128; I don't quite understand! I have read that some have had items in libraries deleted, will downloading the update efect the older 128 card??? I should explain that the G3 B&W that I am running 10.2.8 (Jaguar ) was passed on to me. I reinstalled the software to my liking! It has the orignal card, will this update help or hurt.
