Type: CommentsDate: 10 Mar 2008 16:01I'm still confused - are you saying you DID buy and add the card to your MacPro? And that there are video issues. If this is the case then it is not Apple you need to gripe about. Contact the maker (ATI) and see if there is an upgrade or if your card is defective.

Type: CommentsDate: 28 Feb 2008 13:38I tried posting the following on the Unsanity blog this morning. In response to an email to users from them. Seems they did not like it and censored it off the blog.
This morning I got an email from Unsanity announcing to all registered users their new betas of FruitMenu and others. Days ago I had installed FM and immediatly began having Finder crashes / restarts and other apps crashing. Only disabling it with APE fixed it. I reported this to them, offered to send any logs they might need and have heard NOTHING back.
What I really wanted to comment on was their use of the phrase "no significant" bugs reported and therefore they were sending the email to all users. My comment went on to mention all the crash reports on MU as well os those in their own blog.
So user beware...

Type: CommentsDate: 26 Feb 2008 19:48It does use its own FruitMenu Folder. However the default is not to show it - you have to open the FM System Pref and add it from the right options to the left column which contains what is shown in the Apple Menu. or so it worked for me.
On the other hand I've had to disable it due to repeated crashing...

Type: ReviewDate: 26 Feb 2008 08:50Danger! Danger Will Robinson.
I've installed this on my Mac Pro and most of the time when I click ont he Apple Menu icon something crashes - either the app I am in or the FInder relaunches. I could not even get to the Apple Menu long enough to open the System Prefs -> APE to disable FruitMenu so I had to launch System Prefs from the Applications folder.
I also repaired permissions and verified the disk - no problems with either.
Stay Away from this beta!

Type: CommentsDate: 19 Nov 2007 10:06Much improved. I tried a version 1.x of this before and was not please. Nice improvements in version 2.2.2 and I hope they continue to improve on it.

Type: ReviewDate: 16 Nov 2007 14:08Well that is NOT encouraging news (that responses take weeks.) I've continued to try to get this app to work and cannot. It frequently goes into a "not responding" mode and I have to force quite.
I think I'll forget the lost money as I prepare to move to 10.5. I cannot imagine this app will be any more stable there.

Type: ReviewDate: 30 Oct 2007 11:27I purchased a 5-user license of Picnic based on a quick test and reviews on MacUpdate. I have twice in the past week emailed the developers for support. No response... I guess I wasted $120.
Here is the text of my emails.
Hello - I'm a new registered owner of Picnic 1.0.3
My MAJOR problem is as follows.
On my home wired network I have:
PowerMac G4 Dual 1.25GHz, 1.25GB RAM and OS X 10.4.10 (with the SOURCE FOLDER) and
Mac Pro Dual 2.0, 2GB RAM and OSX 10.4.10
I want to share a large folder that has all my downloaded installers - called "OS X" it is about 34GB in size.
The source folder has 509 items in it.
I've left both systems running Picnic overnight, checking the folder contents on a regular basis.
At one point the MacPro copy of the folder got to 420 items and seems to have stuck.
I have rebooted each system and left it for another 12 hours and nothing has changed.
When I look at the MacPro Picnic window it shows "OS X (qb@qbg4)" and the spinning icon in the upper right when I look at the Queue.
When I look at the G4 it has nothing in the upper right.
BOTH Queues are empty. I would have expected to see something in the queues.
BOTH Conflict windows are empty.
What is going wrong here???
thanks.

Type: CommentsDate: 11 Jun 2007 09:53I downloaded and tried the demo. Very useful for my home with several Mac and PCs on a network and a large family to keep in check.
