PRIMITIVEHUMAN  This is a great improvement to the original Comic Life with the addition of an image editor, reusable styles, more fonts, better file/picture browser, excellent isight camera integration, and a bunch of cool starter templates. You can also use your own vector graphics by dragging them directly into the spray/theme panel. Exporting can be done directly to Flickr, Email, HTML, iPhoto, iWeb, PDF or Images. The HTML export option uses some sort of variation of Lightbox, I believe.

PRIMITIVEHUMAN  BTW....my version number was 1.9....not 1.1 at the time of purchase and I was trying to use 1.11 with Itunes but I keep getting the red "activation failed" message because my key as been used a few times.

PRIMITIVEHUMAN  I got this with the macupdate bundle as well. Beware the activation because I can no longer use my version 1.1 anymore after having to resintall my OS a couple of times. I emailed SRS labs and this is what they said:

Hello xxxx,

Please respond back with your registration number and I’ll reset the account for you.

Kind Regards,

I sent them my regkey weeks ago and they still haven't reset my account. Oh well, I guess I'll find some other plugin to enhance the sound. I'm definitely not upgrading to version 2.0. It's completely ridiculous to ask customers for an upgrade fee so soon.

PRIMITIVEHUMAN  It works great under Bootcamp but is a nuisance in Parallels because is difficult to get the pressure sensitivity of a Wacom to be recognized. Macbook Pros don't have any issues from what I've heard from many people. The only reason a regular Macbook doesn't work is because of the video card I believe.

PRIMITIVEHUMAN  It currently does not work on a Macbook under Tiger or Leopard. However, a universal binary is already in beta and Autodesk is working on the problem. If you're interested in becoming a beta tester, I suggest you contact Chris Cheung via email and mention that you're a Macbook user willing to test that particular bug. His email is chris_(DOT) cheung_(AT)_autodesk_(DOT)_com.

PRIMITIVEHUMAN  It seems that Autodesk has finally heard us all and decided to get on the ball and do something. They've apparently hired someone to lead the ongoing development and get a universal binary of SKP by the end of this year (hopefully). I read this on the message board at Autodesk in the thread titled "on the continued development of sketchbook".......a post by Chris Cheung sheds some light on their progress.

TOYDESIGN  Thanks for the quick reply....

Does that answer go for all the Macs?

Specifically, will it work with a Macbook Pro? I am currently a pc user, and heavily use Sketchbook Pro, but need a new computer and really want to switch to a Mac laptop of some sort...

Will it work well under "Bootcamp"?

Thanks as well about the beta-testing...I'll shoot him an email..

PRIMITIVEHUMAN  I'm very angry for purchasing a $180 program that I cannot use on my new computer. Those jerks at Autodesk purchased this awesome application from Alias and haven't ported to the intel platform. There is no excuse for this complete lack of customer support. You send them emails and all you get is some clueless guy that sends you a link to their knowledgebase (which they don't seem to even read). I hate Autodesk! You want a 3D application?.... Go with ZBrush instead. You need to draw floorplans?.... Use Google Sketchup. Boycott their software!!!

There is nothing that really compares to Sketchbook in terms of ease of use and responsiveness. Now I'm forced to use it with Bootcamp or Parallals because it the screen redraw problem. Even with Paralles, the sensitivity to wacom tablet just isn't the same. You have to move the canvas in order to see any changes you've made. This supposedly works on MacBook Pros (using Rosetta) but the black Macbook doesn't like it.

Sure artrage is nice but it doesn't work as easily. You can't simply drag a file to the dock icon to open it. The application takes over your entire screen instead of sizing itself to stop at the dock. It's a pain in the arse!
