iRADIOmast | Dec 27 2006 |
POOP1 When installed, it demands a login and password for subscribers. You can't see any radio stations until you get a login & password. And the uninstaller does not work. Basically, if you install this, your iTunes is screwed; you can not see any radio stations any more and you can not uninstall it. Absolute crap. And, yes, the idea of people paying to see a list of radio stations is laughably stupid. (Version 1.3)

POOP1 This app does exactly what it is supposed to do and it's really easy to use. I came back from a vacation and I had all my photos easily tagged in a matter of seconds. I only have few suggestions: 1) support for more gps types. I have a garmin forerunner 301 and I had to use loadmytracks to download the waypoints. 2) I wish it could support google maps (or a custom URL) in the "view on map" since the server used to load the map only supports US (it seems). It is a great product and it's far better than others on both Mac and PC. (Version 1.3)

POOP1 I downloaded the software and ran it only to find out it crashes (as it seemed to do to most people). So I took it off and reinstalled it. Now it works fine. FERRUCCIO BUSONI 10MB is Gmail's limit, not gDisk's. The only way to manage files larger than 10MB would be to have gDisk to on-the-fly segmenting (like split archives or Split & Concat), which I suppose would be possible in theory. (Version 0.4)

DAVE | Feb 8 2006 |
POOP1 Unfortunatly I can't really recommend this application. True, they support more authentication methods. This probably helps a lot of people. But they do NOT support the ability to hit hidden shares. So if you have a share that is called, say: cifs://fileserver1/groups$/engineering, you can't mount it with Tiger's SMB client, NOR can you access it with Dave. I'd gladly reach into my pockets and peel out a debit card if someone could make something to let me do that. It is the single reason I have a PC on my desk at work. That, and to change the domain password now and then. (Version 6.1)

MACPERSON0852 You can change your Domain password using the Kerberos.app in /System/Library/CoreServices - you don't need to be bound into the domain, just enter username@my.domain and Change Password. (Version 6.2.1)

DAVE | Sep 14 2006 |
BINGO MACGEE Actually, DAVE can mount hidden shares, but will not be able to mount a sub-directory of that share unles it is itself a sharepoint on the server. You'd probly get more info from Thursby Support, though... (Version 6.2.1)

Apple iTunes | Jan 11 2006 |
POOP1 Although I really like the idea behind the seemless integration between Pandora and iTunes I found it pretty cumbersome and somewhat buggy. I don't think it was ready to be realeased. As the ministore goes, after all I don't think the privacy implications to be so relevant as the whole musicstore is strongly based on the assumption that, in order to increase sales, the user has to be exposed to the ads that is most likely going to be interested in. If you don't like the idea you're better off disabling the whole music store all together. (Version 6.0.2)

SJJ_PUBLIC Apologies for this problem and for the long time it took to fix it. If you were using (as I was) Laserlight prior to the 10.4.3 update, then it would continue to work, but if you were starting fresh, or if you then changed the hotkeys, the problem would crop up. The problem was that Apple changed where it stores the Spotlight hotkeys, and so Laserlight was looking in the wrong place for this information. This is fixed in version 1.0.6 which I just submitted to macupdate and should appear here soon. (Version 1.0.5)

LEV This doesn't really help anyone. You are comparing two entirely different products that use different approaches to achieve different things. Perhaps you haven't had time to investigate NoteTaker properly (I would imagine that's the case since you don't mention any of its features) but in that case it might be fairer not to say anything at all. For anyone who doesn't know either app, NoteTaker is a broad and powerful information manager which uses a spiral-bound notebook metaphor. MacJournal is a journalling application. Comparing them as this "reviewer" has done is a bit like saying Word is pointless since you can enter text in Excel... Oh, the humanity... (Version 1.9.10)

SJK Hope you understand that claiming "MJ is way better" is a meaningless "recommendation" to anyone seriously interested in either product. It's a shame how much product commentary is shallow and opinionated. (Version 1.9.11)
