PMFINE   I do not work for software vendor - just a long time user of the older iClock for over 5 years with no problems so decided to upgrade.

While this is still in beta, 1.0bb21 is performing solidly and adds even more useful features than before.

The integration with iCal is very clever and it is easy to control how you want both the date and the time to look in the menu bar each with its own colors and fonts and format, etc.

My one suggestion if you too are considering the upgrade, is to make sure you completely delete the previous version . This can only be done by doing a restart after you drag the app to the trash. Short of that, some parts of the program stay loaded so this is important to do based on my own experience.

Compliments on this upgrade and one very feature rich program!

PMFINE  Commenting on how to stop the CDFinder Cat function in Toast.

Pretty sure It is under RECORDER in menu, down to Recorder Settings, Advanced Tab and then uncheck the "Catalog Disk Contents". My reference was Toast v9 but it may be in other older versions and of course newer too.

PMFINE  I used this product for years as well as Sticky Brain before and when it worked it was great. However, once I had a db corruption problem and needed help, outside of my own expertise, the company never responded. Not in private email or on their forums as they prefer.

Good products still need the backend support for when even a consultant (me) can not get around a problem and this company failed terribly at that task.

I decided that I could no longer invest my time and data and my client's data to a company that offered me no help at all on those very rare occasions it was needed.

I moved on to EverNote, a free solution that is not perfect but adds wonderful cross platform support to my iPhone too.

Even the best product is not worth using if you can not get any help when you need it.

PMFINE  kerryjw1:

My main folder was only 16 characters including spaces so I am not sure why it was renamed? It removed 9 characters and added 001 at the end.

We are not sure either but the program has been updated to v1.2 with another check to avoid touching anything under 31 characters.

Thanks for your feedback.

PMFINE  Glad you figured this out and that no files were deleted which we could not understand.

On the renaming issue when it was only 16 characters, I will discuss this with my fellow developer and as you said, it should not have renamed any file or folder under 31 characters.

PMFINE  While we are sorry for any files you say you lost, we can't imagine how that is possible.

The program has been tested and used by hundreds of users and downloaded by over 2500 members at many locations and not one including the two developers and other consultants have ever reported this or seen that behavior.

Since it only renames files and does not move them to the trash, it is still harder to understand.

Personally, I would always test any product on a small folder of files to see how it behaves in your environment but as I said, your experience is unique and unexplainable.

PMFINE  Thanks for your positive comments but rating this a 1 on features because it only does 1 thing )but does it perfectly) is very peculiar logic.

I see ratings based on how well something does what it claims to do. Since we only claim to do one thing, it would be foolish to expect it to do more especially since you said it does that one thing "VERY WELL".

It would be the same logic in buying a powerbook and rating it only a 1 because it does not wash your cloths.
