PISSNAROUND I think I know what happened. First, I had to erase the previous versions cache and prefs before I could even get WJ to run. Then, once it was running I couldn't just type into your prefs dialog. I had to hold the up and down arrows in order to change how many pics I could view. I also had to quit and relaunch every time I changed a setting in order to see the effect. I run Isolator and it seems there was some conflict. Even after I uninstalled WJ Isolator would no longer run until I reinstalled it. (Version 2.1)

So I closed the program and clicked on Download Now (above). I ran the program before copying to the Applications Folder and had no problems. PISSNAROUND I'm amazed that users have any problems with Firefox at all. It's my browser of choice and the only time I use anything else: Flock, Safari, Camino etc. is out of boredom. I suspect most problems people who do have some problem is due to add-ons that haven't been updated for the current version of FF or some other corrupted file. For me anyway, displays pages correctly, doesn't crash, is fast and I would be very unhappy without it. I have on rare occasions found a glitch with some obscure program or other but 90% of the time that I read people saying they have problems with this or that program, I can never find them. As far as beta versions of anything, they are not finished programs and seems silly for people to expect them to function like they are finished or stable.

Hear | Oct 1 2008 |
So I've been looking into your question and got this from our engineering group: Threshold basically controls how much to amplify the signal, only it is measured in the opposite direction. It is a kind of like a pair of scissors, which will bring all the signal that exceeds the threshold down to the threshold level, and then amplifies the signal so that the threshold is brought up to whatever ceiling value is showing. As an example: If Ceiling=0dB, that means to bring it to the maximum. When Ceiling == Threshold, the signal is just cut (limited) at the threshold level and no amplification is performed. Of course, Limiter within Hear is a dynamics processor, which does not just clip the signal, but rather, ensures that no audible clipping is made while the signal stays within the given range. One can think of a limiter as a volume control basically, which carefully limits all the output that goes beyond what hardware can output. Also, sorry to hear that you did not hear back from our support team- Did you send an email or use the form on our website ? Just trying to track that down so we can improve that experience too-- Gordon from JoeSoft (Version 1.0.3)

APPLE_JULIEN "I was just dbl clicking on the preset stations which actually would make then start playing." Wow ! Yes, this feature (the double-click) is juste to "preview" the preset or the iTunes importation. But if you wan't to really use FStream, you should add the webradio in your "playlist" (the "Radio" tab). Once this done, you can "really" use FStream ! PISSNAROUND ok, my last attempt. when I click on the volume the slider pops up and slides up and down but the volume doesn't change. the eq window pops up and when enabled the presets change the sliders but the eq doesnt affect the stream. the status window always displays disconnected even though its playing. the record creates a folder, a file to record. but nothing is recorded. I don't know what mechanism is used to interceot the stream by the volume, eq, record etc. but if I could find out I may be able to replace whatever isnt working on my machine. apparently its neither an iTunes 7.6 nor a quicktime 7.4 issue seeing a couple others here say it works with those installed. is one person who apparently also has a status that never changes in the recent comments. thanks (Version 1.3.5)

PISSNAROUND you mentioned not getting notifications might be my problem. if its not too lengthy, what are you calling in the OS to pass them? I know there must be one small thing that's not quite right about my install but I could use some help trying to narrow down where. I really don't want to reinstall the entire OS just for one program. (Version 1.3.5)

PISSNAROUND This still isn't working for me. Just as a reminder, I'm running leopard 10.5.1, Quicktime 7.4, ITunes 7.6 on an Intel Duo Core 2 iMac. I don't understand quite what's wrong and don't even know where to look. Everything I run works just fine except for Fstream. I am on dial-up if that makes any difference at all. I did try disabling all third party input managers and whatever I could think of that could be affecting the program. I know it works on other machines so I'm at a loss. (Version 1.3.5)

NADAMAC Version 1.3.5 works as expected on my computer: I guess your problem has to do with the last QuickTime update. There are numerous issues with the latest version. There are some workarounds available in the internet. Good luck! (Version 1.3.5)

APPLE_JULIEN Thank for you comment :) It is perhaps QuickTime, but I don't use it directly... (Version 1.3.5)

PISSNAROUND btw… I am stuck on dialup for the time being, hope that isnt the reason. and I keep forgetting to mention that your status window always says "Status: Disconnected' even while a station is playing. It might just be something is corrupted in my Leopard install, but everything else, and I mean every program of all sorts runs fine. Is quite the dilemma. (Version 1.3.4)

PISSNAROUND actually I have an intel duo core 2 iMac.... not a PPC issue... was wondering if it could be Quicktime 7.4 or iTunes 7.6... I have read other places they broke some other programs. not that I want to go backwards. (Version 1.3.4)

LEE123 I too had no volume control until I rebooted. Also I think the volume needs to be pointed out in the documentation. Click on the bottom half of the icon on the far right. (Version 1.3.4)

PISSNAROUND well, this has any number of problems which I have to assume is because its a beta version, although it doesnt say so. It crashes when I quit the app, it doesnt scroll text correctly in message windows, and I have to install a new copy every time I want to use it. otherwise it's fine... :o) (Version 0.8.6)

PISSNAROUND having a small issue with Chax 2.0 & 2.1b1. I have multiple accts but only use one at a time. but at times, when I set one to offline, then close it using the Accounts setting in the menu, iChat crashes. Its fine without Chax installed. it also doesn't do it every time. any thoughts? (Version 2.1b1)

PISSNAROUND v. 1.0.1 is working for me now also. I do have one comment/suggestion... could you make the delay a bit longer in demo mode? not much happens with it before the "bugs" disappear. a little hard to tell if its worth the purchase. (Version 1.01)

PISSNAROUND doesn't run quite right on my late 2006 iMac either. first,if you have the clock option set it wont load at all. if you turn that off will load but says no camera although I have a builtin iSight cam. also using Leopard 10.5.1 (Version 1.0)
