PAULC  Basic is exactly the correct language to use for single purpose software... perfect choice.

PAULC  Very nice app... one small suggestion. The sub folders option seems to mean "drill down as far as necessary." But what I really need this app for is to do only two levels down (the folder itself and one level after that).

And I'd like to see a tab character/indention before each subfolder.

Think of one's iTunes folder... a list with each artist and each album under each artists, just that with all albums indented from the artist folder. Like so:

Beatles

Rubber Soul

Revolver

Santana

Abraxas

Supernatural

In OS9 one could select all, hit the right arrow and get a display just like this... AND print it.

Path Finder
Aug 1 2007

PAULC  I seriously doubt Apple will buy them... the time where it would have been a very good move seems long past. We do know that the Finder "re-write" for Tiger simply didn't come close to any reasonable expectation of a really solid file browser (meaning PathFinder is just as necessary as it was under Jaguar).

The real issue seems to be whether or not they will require an update fee for Leopard... they do say "10.4 or later" which means currently functionality should be maintained into the Leopard era.

Spell Catcher X

PAULC  To call this "just a spell checker" is to ignore three quarters of what it can do for you. For me, the Lookup function (highlight a word, hit a keystroke) returns data from it's own data sources along with publicly accessible data is fabulous.

Ever wanted, needed to clean up some text? SCX can do that.

Having troubles? Like detailed below, this program has a very actively involved developer... both in responding to issues as well as advancing the software forward.

Some may get "scared" by the seemingly daunting array of preferences; understand that this is what allows one to very precisely set the software to function the way they want it to; there's no "the developers way or no way" here.

Honestly, this stuff is worth twice what you can get it for.
