It may not be faster, but it gives better (more explicit) feedback about what is going on. |

oops, sorry, just checked and realized that Adium 1.2.x runs under Tiger too. My fault - no idea why AdiumBook then runs under Leopard only. Perhaps because of changes to Address Book and it being too hard to support both Tiger and Leopard Address Book? |

As you can see in the “Whats new” section, this version of AdiumBook had to be completely rewritten for Adium 1.2 - which is Leopard only: “Code updated to support the new Adium version 1.2 (Leopard only by now”. It also says that for Adium 1.2 the scripting part of Adium has undergone major changes… |

Adding JSTOR searches is a real treat for people in the social sciences and humanities. With the new version, searching for journal articles and downloading them as PDFs has become easier by an order of magnitude or more. Great feature! |

no problem with Aperture here on my MacBook Pro C2D 2,3 Ghz (my only other “pro” app is Final Cut Express). |

This highly useful software has been updated several times – check out the developer page for the newest version. Good news: it seems the developer wants to include support for multiple keyboards! That is exactly what I need. :) |

I also posted this in the thread below: there seems to be a network-wide issue with Skype. It is recorded in their heartbeat blog: http://heartbeat.skype.com/2007/08/problems_with_skype_login.html |

Well, I do not know whose fault this is, but I am always annoyed if a beta version is announced as "free" on this website and then we discover that the final version costs (in this case a substantial amount of) money. If I would have known that HTMLValidator would cost more than five bucks, I wouldn't have downloaded it in the first place. I guess I have to delete all prefs and caches and redownload XMLNanny, which is not as good as this software, but actually free and remaining so. (The last point is particularly important because the beta versions of HTMLValidator had expiration dates, so they were only free/usuable for a limited amount of time. I think we should be informed about this as early as possible.) |

Is that really possible? I am not able to find an option that would make Skim open PDF using the full visible area and display facing pages. Full visible area means everything except for the dock (i.e. a maximum size window, but not not full screen). Facing pages means two pages at once. PDFView does this perfectly. If Skim can do this, then I will delete PDFView from my machine… |

Rarely have I found such a gem. First, I thought: Why would I need this? Now I get excited with every new update. Do not let yourself be deceived by the low version number – this is an excellent product that lifts working with PDFs to another level. Great attention to detail and fast-paced development without offering stability - at least until now ;) |

Nice to see finally see a freeware front end for ipfw. After BrickHouse went practically defunct this is what I am looking for. I like the start so far but I would prefer it, if the interface was less monolithic. I.e. the main window cannot be resized and the firewall log cannot be displayed in a seperate window (which I really need to finetune my firewall settings). Other than that: great start – I am looking forward to see this app develop! |

Regarding the built-in pdf production feature of NeoOffice: This feature is (in my view) superior to OS X's built in print to pdf function because it can automatically generate chapter entries etc. that can be used to navigate the pdf document, and it also includes more meta-data to help classify (and index) the pdf document. |

The download link does not work. In addition, there is no information about SimplyRAR available on the linked website. Otherwise this seems to be a decent utility – I am definitely looking forward to having some kind of progress indicator or some information about expected remaining time. |
