Caboodle
Sep 15 2008
**...

OGKN06  It is a lovely piece of software and very stable it has never crashed on me. One can find many uses because it is versatile in many ways especially exporting and importing stuff (even with via drag'n drop), it is indeed very powerful. I bought it from mupromo and for the price I thought it was a bargain and I was very happy the first few days it was like love at first sight. Simple yet intuitive GUI. Then I started to see dark clouds on my computers as the software slowed down. Even opening a simple file took literally ages. I couldn't believe it. I wrote to the developer asking for a refund, he told me that refunding policy is for those who buy the software directly from the shop. He admitted that the software slows down. He promised to solve the situation in future releases when he starts using SQLlite databases. After this discussion I had to buy another data organizing software. I literally have 20 times the information when compared to the ones I had in Caboodle, and the new software didn't slow down a bit. I feel that this a real deal breaker.

So I still have the software I use it to organize my poems, at least text files doesn't slow down the software.

SHISKBOB  It would be nice to know the other data storage software you found that didn't slow down with added data. I have Caboodle but use both Yojimbo (good sync with MobileMe) and EagleFiler (hierarchical folders, and multiple very large database possibilities) predominately.

Speed Download
Mar 17 2008

OGKN06  I bought this software from the Macheist bundle and like 1password this has become an essential tool for me. I like the fact that I can delete the downloaded files no matter where I place them and also love the way that it makes use of all the internet speed of the network. It literally sucks the available sources until it completes the tasks it's been assigned to. I'm not a pro user but I've read that you can add any site's download links to download more professionally (ie. using it with your rapidshare premium account). This would save enormous time for a pro user. Frankly I didn't like the fact that SD charged new users for an update after such a short time but I'm very happy that things have settled and we get a free upgrade to SD 5. Finally I'd like to comment on the support, it is fantastic. Very fast and very helpful. They are very flexible and understanding. It is so nice to meet real humans that can understand your problems, concerns and come up with real solutions rather than direct you to other links in order to save their own time. As far as I can tell these guys are dedicated to their work.
