I've not experienced this problem w/ this app but have with other applications. I came to find that the problem was related to corrupt data being synced across file systems. The app had no way of dealing with the problem so it would freeze. I ran a file integrity check on the backup data and then removed the bad data. Then it worked fine.

I absolutely agree. I gave up on Stuffit back in OS 9 days, but it just won't go away. I personally enjoy using 7zx for (.7z) compression as well as .rar, .tar, .tgz, and "The Unarchiver" for handling decompression. If it weren't for n00bz still using the proprietary .sitx format, I'd be rid of Stuffshit, I mean Stuffit --which is really nothing more than buggy bloat-ware.

In the land of compression Stuffit software loses. Therefore, anyone still using this software is a loser j/k. Why? Because there are better, free alternatives for file compression --i.e. 7zip, bzip, gzip, tar, rar (among others).

Nice. Looks and feels quite well put together. Seems to take good advantage of the POSIX ACL API within OS X. Just started using it so I'm not sure if it's doing it's job reliably.

Always glad to see a developer making the effort to introduce more security related software to the macintosh platform. Not enough of it. Thanks. Keep it locked.

Cheers

I can appreciate your individuality.

However. I don't see Apple Inc putting blubbery, tacky colored icons across their products. They aim for clear/neutral, aesthetic themes. Thus, all consumers start with a visualy crisp and fine product. From here the individual consumer if so inclined can modify the color and size of elements to their hearts content.

It's sensible, fair, and proper.

Terrific text editing program indeed but, the eyes have it. The developers, choice of icons destroys it's aesthetic. But,, that aside it funtions very well and best of all it's free (Many blessings).

Thanks for the downloadable replacement icon sets by the way! That's much better!

Much, much, much better than the original programs icons. The original set feels and looks something from a fisher-price product for toddlers.

Good stuff man! However. I didn't see any information about external editing capabilities. Are there any plans on integrating the Bare Bones ODB Suite into ForgEdit?

See: http://www.barebones.com/support/develop/odbsuite.shtml

That would rock! Keep it moving man.

Sweet little application. However, I was noticing that while running the "Check Status" option their seemed to be a couple of minor functionality flaws/omissions.

To begin with the inability to determine and categorize "page/link redirects" leads to the false notion that a bookmark is actually valid (i.e. has not moved or become a dormant domain name). I have found that certain bookmarks pointed to bogus pages even after I performed the "Check Status" test.

Another detail to consider is in regard to the HTTP request timeouts. It seems at current the application does not allow any means (that I noticed) to set/adjust the timeout value for HTTP requests. This can slow things down considerably.

In conclusion This app is "sweet" but, it has potential to be "rad". It would be way radical to see a better implementation of RFC 2616 (HTTP/1.1). I'm sure our deveopler has already noted this and is working diligently to dazzle us with his latest revision ;) Just trying to help.
