NITEBAR  I had the same trouble with smcFanControl 2.1.3.1- i downloaded and installed about 5 times ...NOTHING seemed to happen. Don't know why but i happened to notice a tiny little new type at the top of my window that said 55C and 2005rpm and i clicked on that and sure enough it had been running all along.
