NECRISREX There is something that is lacking in most Mac browsers. Firefox and Mozilla are stark exceptions, although Camino does lack it. The ability to view certificates for sites. When you are responsible for making sure that a secure site has the right certificates this is a NECESSITY not a nicety. I have limited options with respect to OS X browsers allowing this. I.E., Firefox, Mozilla, and now Opera 7.5 - this feature alone is a wonder to find in a Mac browser. I also LOVE the Mail client interface with Views stripped almost straight from Windows Outlook. Another major plus for Opera (in my humble opinion) is that once I learn to use Opera 7.5, whether on Windows or Linux or a Mac, I can use Opera 7.5 THE EXACT SAME WAY on each. Not necessarily a Mac standard interface, but I find it pleasant, and even revolutionary in some ways, with it's finder like sidebar for picking the contents of the main window cell... Anyway, Just as with your choice of OS you really shouldn't decide it isn't woth it until you try it. Opera is a capable, usable, and fast browser. (Version 7.50) |
