I tried your suggestion. No luck. The System log said that Service did not resolve for nealxp. I should let you know that nealxp is a VMware server. Maybe tyhat is the problem. It mounts fine with OS 10's connect to server.

CATTUS THRAEX  Opening Office 2004 in 13 seconds is a non-sense, you may possibly mean "Word opened in 13 seconds".

Do not forget that NeoOffice includes 5 basic apps + other utilitiesÉ besides, it is based on Java.

The main issue is stability, and NeoOffice has gradually got to the point of being entirely usable, without fear of lossing data. Last evening I tested it with a fairly long 140 page document, and behaved very well. Perhaps Word is not worse, but definitely NeoOffice did its job very well, without crashing.

True, NeoOffice is slow upon startup, but then bahaves itself and is indeed worth its price: a wonderful free app!

UNCLE ASAD  80 seconds on that hardware seems slower than it should be. How much RAM do you have (the more, the better, as RAM is one of the cheapest ways to improve speed of your apps)?
