MOPPERMAN  Flash 10 seems to hang on websites regularly.

I want to revert to Flash 9, but not sure how to get an installer.

DANMARC  you might find "downgrading" help here:

SPRINGHEELMAC  Try downloading the flash uninstaller from Adobe here:

'kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html'

Then install the last Flash 9 from here:

'get.adobe.com/flashplayer'

Simply select "Flash 9" from the drop down. If you're having Flash issues on an older Mac and still want to see all the goodies, I highly recommend 9.0.246.0.

MOPPERMAN  Yeah, broken when installed with Safari 3.2. Safari crashes repeatedly.

Please fix! I keep patiently checking your website.

MOPPERMAN  This is a good program if you only want to search your local machine, perhaps, and I love the interface - I wish Apple would return an interface like this to Spotlight.

But try to search a Mac OS X 10.5 Server share that has hundreds of thousands of work files on it with this app, and it becomes useless... 3 - 4 minutes to complete a search over a gigabit network. Spotlight may be a pain because you can't configure it very well, but it is fast (nearly instantaneous), especially with 10.5 Server Spotlight indexing. Personally I have no issues with Spotlight indexing, but this application does not act like it really uses an index if it's there.

RUFTY TUFTY  EasyFind does NOT use an index. That's clearly stated in the first sentence of the description.

The reason it's so useful (when Spotlight isn't) is that Spotlight only indexes part of your system, and doesn't find anything in the areas that aren't indexed. And, indexing >everything< would take a long time, and take a lot of space for the index.

The genius of EasyFind is that it is fairly fast, considering that it doesn't use an index. I use it a few times a month to find system files, etc., and a couple of minutes or so is no big deal (I do something else while I'm waiting). 3 or 4 minutes to search an entire server over the network is actually pretty impressive.

While it's not as fast as you might like, you might want to ask - what's the alternative? The only way to do it faster is to build an index, with all the overhead that entails.

MOPPERMAN  This application is a good idea, but I really wish it wouldn't try to expand lower-rez images. The pixelated photos look like crap. An option not to expand the views to fill the screen would be more satisfying. Also, if it actually could authenticate to Flickr, it could pull my favorites, pull from my high-res images, etc.
