MKAY  is "Colorize HTML Source" supposed to be working in 64bit mode?

Doesn't work for me. (SL/Safari 64Bit)

WebDrive for Mac
Sep 22 2009

MKAY  After the installation I have 0 days of evaluation remaining. All site manager buttons except "buy it..." are greyed out.

This is a 4 week old iMac (running SL) and I'm positive that this app has never been installed on this machine before.

it's hard to evaluate something that doesn't let you use it.

Am I missing something?

MKAY  +1. leaves a very bad taste.

If you get sponsored, say so.

I don't think anyone would mind as long as it's made clear.

Transparency is king.

MKAY  I was actually very happy with it and used it for almost a year.

But the lack of transparency in the company's politics ("sure, it's free!" > "well it might be free" > "btw it's 40,-") is the main reason I went back to TB / Shredder.

I have no problems paying for software I use but I don't use software I don't trust.

IMHO they have focused too much on all that bells 'n whistles stuff (social bookmarks and stuff) than adding something that really sets it apart from Shredder.

The GUI is nice but 40,- für a polished GUI of Mozilla Thunderbird? C'mon...

iBackup for Mac

MKAY  that's what I'd like to know. Where's the difference between idrive and (this) ibackup?

identical looking client, even the company seems to be the same (Pro Soft).

only differentce I see is the price tag (this, not the original) ibackup is 5 time the price of idrive's.

hmm? confusing if not alerting as I do use idrive...

MKAY  try posting your probs over at http://getsatisfaction.com/postbox

the developers seem very vivid supporting their app there.

MKAY  I've been using it for a month now with my 5 IMAP accounts and I really like it.

Especially:

- it doesnt mess with your IMAP folders (like Mail does)

- it has a slicker UI than Thunderbird

- the 1-click archive feature

- the message tagging(!)

- grouping conversations even if in different folders

- smart usage of TB's "flag" feature for Todos

all in all a (almost, it's beta) perfect mix between TB and Apple's Mail.

I've had a few stability issues like being unable to delete messages. But hey it's beta and they're doing a good job supporting the app over at http://getsatisfaction.com/postbox.

Oh and it's free. Just curious where they're heading policywise .... (license, OS, plugins, etc)

antipop

MKAY  thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm usually quite into 'pop' but not when it comes to external speakers on my blackbook. It drove me nuts!

Now it's gone. not a single bloody pop since I installed antipop 2 days ago.

Although it's basically a simple script rather than an 'app', it's clean code, well done and effective.

Good work :)

did I say thanks?

ChordMate Pro
Aug 30 2008

MKAY  actually a pretty neat app but a bit overprized.

I'd hate to spend more than 25,- for an app that's basically a chord db.

I wish it had at least an option to export/save your arrangements. (without having to use copy/paste)

Nevertheless well done and good looking.

ChordMate Pro
Aug 30 2008

HARMONICSENSE  Thank you for your comment. We have ChordMate Express which costs $20. It's a lot more than a database of chords because it allows you to try how chords fit together in a chord progression. The chord progression can be saved (there is an option in the Chord Progression menu). Aso, diagram export and support of custom chord diagrams make it a great tool for creating beautiful songsheets, lessons, etc.

The Pro version supports alternate tunings. We don't use a database for storing chords, so every tuning is supported equally well. Another big feature of the Pro version is support for altered chords. Any chord degree can be altered in any chord, which is much more powerful and flexible than a chord database.
