Be patient in CPU modes - CPU has much work to compute the 32000 stars. GPU runs much faster here but also has less that 20 FPS (GTX285) 9 FPS 8800GT.

MITCH_DE  I would ALWAYS check the volume with the buildin test volume or disk utiliy BEFORE let idefrag defrag.

I use idefrag on 4 HDs for > 3 years and had never any problem or hangs. But i never let it run without check&repair(if needed) the hfs+ volume structure !

Now you can start the app (nbody or mandelbrot) in terminal.

If you try to start the app before you changed the directory to the folder of the app, the app cant find any .dylib and will fail !

So the change directory (cd command) is essential .

The actual CUDA driver (available from Nvidia, Info + DL Links in the readme) can´t work in the 64 Bit KernelMode of MacPro / XServe.

But Nvidia will updated soon. If you have an MacPro wich is using the 64 Bit KernelMode by default, you can try that Benches by booting in 32 Bit KernelMode ( Apps can run in 64 Bit independend from 32 Bit KernelMode)

ATi devs (AMD Inc.) tried the demo only on ATI 4850 (iMac).

So ATI 4870 will fail also with that demo - at least only 1/3 of starts the demo runs without graphic errors, an other user tild be.

This ATi 4870 user got around 80 FPS on both shader szenes with his ATI 4870 (2/3 of runs gave graphics errors).

ATI users must wait for 10.6.1. ATI devs are working to fix that major problems in OpenCL of 10.6.0.

Thanks testing this small OpenCL Tool. The OpenCL Source part of it, isnt really real worlf parallel computing !

ATI Users should NOT!!! use for an compare to Nvidia gpus - their results are way to slow - maybe an problemin the ATI part of the OpenCL framework. Thee OpenCL Framework gets the source (C like, CUDA like) and compiles that at runtime (on your system) into the right gpu code. If the compiler can do the same OpenCL GPU source for ATI as good as for Nvidia, there will be an problem.

So dont wory about very bad ATI 4870 results !

My HINT for getting much more real world OpenCL Benches (ATI GPUs may fail here also!)

So you missed nothing real, because you wont get any GPU OpenCL time values, even i would recompile the bench for CD cpus also.

Resize works but without filtering noise reduction.

But i see that noise reduction is only selectable if Video input is interlaced?!

MITCH_DE  Yeah, the main problem is the way how it works.

Other than SAFT or other good blockers it cant block animated gifs only,

flash only and cant add adds by right click to the block list.

This its because his proxy way and not as plugin / Input Manager.

I really tested GB long buts way worst (in handling, CPU usage, adding blocks) that the InputManager plugins.

An other bad is, its because of the proxy way vs InputManager, it can have an bad effekt to all Internet Apps . So if you dont need Add Blocking in an Non-Browser Internet App, GB maybe can make problems, even this Internet App didnt need any Add Blocking.

The InputManager way is a bit different - it bundles the blocker to its Browser, not to all Interner Apps.

The only really (now) pro is: Independed from Browserversions / OS X Versions.

The time you need to boot from tools CD´s is exterme.

Techtool needs more than 10 Minutes to boot, also DW or selfmade CDs (only Panther) with BootCD need more than 5 Minutes.

So, also very usefull , you should have an second parttion (also usefull for Techtool or Diskwarrior) or external Disk (backups !!)

Because idefrag has an very good "quick" defrag, you donnt need to boot from CD normally.

Only the (needs much more time) full defrag or optimized defrag needs an boot from CD7 external Drive / other parttion.

And remember:

Always check your drive (volume check/repaier NOT rights check) before you use any such defrag tool.

idefrag & Co won´t be very helpfull if your disk is near full.

If the disk is more than 90% full, you would need to defrag very often !

So keep your disk(volume/system parttion ) more clean and have at least 20% freespace.

You can do :

If you have enough disk space:

Make an folder "defrag" . copy (not move, you need an + if drag & Drop) the fragmented file to this folder.

delete orig. file.

If you have ennough disk space the file will be much less fragmentated.

If no (to less space, but more than 10% free):

use an defrag tool ( i use idefrag).

But remember: BEFORE you use an defrag tool, ALWAYS!!! check/repair the volume. I mean reapir volume NOT repair permissions using Diskwarrior or OS X disk tool.

If you have less/equal 10%(to 15%) free, dont waste your time with defrag tools. buy an new, bigger HD or install an second.

defrag tools are NOT useless, but for good success you need an disk which isnt near full.

And the tool is relative new - but makes great steps in his short livetime.

This tool has such a small downloadsize (other than XPlane BetaBetas) that you may downlaod it or BETTER first check the "More Information" (Homepage) Informations if an update is needed for you or not.

Second reason for update is, like other small programmers, that i have only one MAC with one videocard, which makes such a hardware-tool hard to test without uploading it to others.

I updated homepage and added an special download for JAGUAR users.

At least ATI 8500 Jaguar Users are involved, maybe all ATI and Nvidia Users may use only the Jaguar Version.

But you can try Panther Version.

If most values are zero , use Jaguar Version.
