MILESLONG I'm a little confused after reading the comments below. Does 2.2.1 install and work properly on Snow Leopard? I know not to install 2.2 but I wasn't sure if you meant all 2.2 installs or just 2.2 and inferring that 2.2.1 was good to go. One thing to remember everyone is that this is a free download so any comments should be constructive and not disparaging. (Version 2.2.1)

MILESLONG Again kennedy, i don't have a clue what your comment means about you CAn design a website from scratch but you CANT design one without downloading their developer tools and learning their software. Well, I hate to be the one to break this to you but you have to learn somekind of software before designing and coding a website. I don't care if it's dreamweaver or textedit, you have to use software to design and implement a website. When referring to developer tools you mean Theme SDK, that is for designer who wish to build their own templates and sell them as themes usually. I can take a nice RW template or any other for that matter I purchased for around $10 and then transform it into something that doesn't even resemble the original template (in a good way sometimes). There are also blank templates that have no theme at all and you just code away, this isn't the developer SDK (which is free by the way). (Version 4.3rc1)

RapidWeaver | May 14 2009 |
MILESLONG I think the two guys below me need to at least really try the software before writing such inane comments. You CAN build pages from scratch, there at least three different themes which come to you blank and you simply design away to your hearts content, yes, a blank canvas. Secondly, every single theme available is modifiable. If you guys know so much about coding then you would have figured this out by now. The themes simply allow a nice looking quick template for those who aren't coders. If you are handy with code, the great themes available save you tons of hours in design and writing lines of code. They have the best support for any software I have ever tried and if you want an answer to a problem, just go to the forums and you will have experts answer it for you within minutes usually. The only negative about Rapidweaver is that sometimes it does act buggy on my sites during design but I use an insane amount of javascript. Most people won't ever even notice this issue. Doesn't affect the way the site performs on the web either. Again, you need to try a product before slamming it, really inaccurate posts, probably competitors or something.... Here are links to just some of the blank themes available, several are FREE as well... http://www.realmacsoftware.com/addons/themes/blocksbox/ http://www.realmacsoftware.com/addons/themes/notheme/ (Version 4.2.3)

BIGCHARLES I agree with Mileslong and Webkarnage. I've spent countless hours evaluating Rapidweaver versus all other similar products in its category, including but not limited to Freeway, Sandvox, iWeb, and Shutterbug. I also own GoLive and have used Dreamweaver. RW is the real deal. It's where I've put my dollars, and it hasn't broken the bank either. After a discount eCoupon (and before themes and plugins) it cost me all of $39.99. Darn good value. And the user community is amazing - unlike any other (in a good way :-) (Version 4.2.3)

RapidWeaver | Jul 20 2009 |
BDKENNEDY1 Technically, you can create a web site from scratch. You CAN NOT create a web site from scratch with this product without downloading and using the developer tools and learning them. There are other programs available that allow you to create custom themes and they cost money - as much as $100. (Version 4.2.3)

Blocks | Sep 2 2008 |
MILESLONG Blocks is the best plugin for Rapidweaver hands down. I can't imagine designing an entire website without using it at least for some of the pages. Makes a great product, RW, even better. Great developer as well, all of his products are first rate. If you are going to start using RW then this is your first plugin to buy. (Version 3.2b1)

MILESLONG Man, some people are never happy. People either complain that there aren't any updates and a product seems to be dead, or that it is updated too often. Here is a news bulletin: If don't like to update a lot THEN DON'T. Use the same version for a month then update it and see if there is another new version. When a FREE program like this is updated a lot to me it means that the developer really cares about their product. It mean they are passionate about it which usually means it becomes a great program in the end. This is a very cool program, for free, with a developer who really wants to put out a great program, be happy about that. Critique it by giving feature requests and report bugs but don't slam the guy for trying to consistently making it the best it can be. 5 stars from me! Just think if the clown who makes Acquisition and Xtorrent cared this much. That guy Watanabe is very talented and makes beautiful apps but has the worst attitude on the planet. Just think if he had this developers passion and drive, how good would those two programs be now? Instead, they are all but dead and they are pay programs... (Version 2.0.18)

GOODTIME You hit the nail on the head. We are slowly figuring out it is impossible to keep everyone happy. But the passion is what drives us even though we might be a little insane on the frequency of the updates. Recently we worked on an issue for one user an it took us about 7 tries to get it fixed. The user could only get 2.0.0 alpha 1. The farthest coul phyosicyly d go back was alpha4. So we took that and compared it to 2.0.11. Long story short we did get it fixed with this version. You may be wondering why we rearranged the software code for one person? Our thinking is if one person is having a problem there is most likely at least 10 others that ran into it and are experiencing the same issue. We did get the problem fixed in 2.0.18. It turned out this guy that had a problem with it was a pretty big comedy writer for 20 years of many popular comedy shows. It made us feel pretty good that someone in hollywood was using our software and was kind enough to let us know what was working and what wasn't. It took us about a dozen emails back and forth to get it resolved. The whole time he was very professional and we did not know who we was at the time. Thanks for the great feedback. I saw your other 5 star rating got lost when MacUpdate merged SP1 and SP2. Yes we are very passionate about what we do even though this is just part time gig. In reality it is a second job that pays less than minimum wage but we enjoy every minute of it. StarPlayr has been one of the toughest yet most rewarding projects. And we're not really programmers either. We are people who have an idea on how to do something then we just figure out how to execute it. None of us have any formal training or background in computer programming. We do have lots of experience and trial and error. That might count for something, but the passion is what fuels us. It can often be mistaking for other traits but without passion man this would really be a boring gig.

MILESLONG First of all I am in awe of anyone who can actually create an application of any type so any criticism by me is simply to be used constructively. I like simple, an FTP client should not be difficult to use by the average person. An application such as crushftp may have nice features but is very difficult to setup and get working. This application is easy to setup but this one window GUI on some of the latest FTP clients drives me mad, Does anyone really like just the one window? Why would I want to open up my finder window and also open up Flow in order to transmit data to my server? Everyone I have talked to about this agrees that two windows, one for the data on your computer and one window for the server is the easiest to manipulate and understand. Please consider a two window option as least. The speed seems comparable to most of the others on the Mac market. I have tested about 30 FTP clients between windows and mac in the last month and I am sticking for now with Transmit (solid) and Forklift (best GUI) for mac and CuteFTP (fast but ugly) and WS_FTP (the Transmit of the windows world) on windows. For now I'm not sure that you should be charging for this application in it's current form when you have free apps like Cyberduck which perform as well. My advice would be to keep this in a free Beta mode until you reach a point where this app can separate itself from the pack. Once you can show the value of this product then the public will be more than happy to pay for this fine app. Good luck and keep up the good work, but PLEASE give it a two window option... MILESLONG I am no expert on FTP clients although I am now using them daily since I started building websites in my spare time. In the last month I have demoed around 30 different clients between Windows and Mac. Out of all of those there were only two applications that were too complicated for me to setup properly, SmartFTP on windows and CrushFTP on mac. I won't hold my own inadequacies against the app but it needs to be made more simple for the average user to get it set up properly, it doesn't have to be hard. More and more people are starting to design their own websites now with the simple webdesign tools like iweb and rapidweaver so there is an increasing market for simple, quick FTP clients and for me anyway, CrushFTP is not one of them. Good luck and keep up the good work. (Version 4.7)

CENOCRE "I just post honest opinions on here" But it appears that you missed Joel's point. You entire comment was off base given that you were commenting about a different type of product. It is not what you were looking for. CrushFTP is not intended for what you were looking for so it is not fair to cut it down for something that it is no supposed to do. It's like cutting down Photoshop because you couldn't figure out how to record movies. CrushFTP is a SERVER and is what web hosts use to pass files on the "client" that you are using. It is a different part of the FTP chain. It is essentially the master and, unless running a web or fileserver, most people will never need to set it up themselves and will never need it on their computers. (Version 4.9.5)

GOODTIME I will be more than happy to helo you with your login problems on the Nicemac.com BBS. StarPlayr has been tested to work with USA and Canada accounts. It uses the same URL at Sirius' webplayer to login. If you can login via the web player, you should not have a problem logging in via StarPlayr. If you are using some other player that caches your Login, then it could be that your login expired.

GOODTIME Sorry that you are frustrated. The Star Desktop is NEW and came out weeks after I commented. I suggest that you try the following: 1. Request a 3-day pass from Sirius and test a trial account. 2. Make sure that you are using the correct web player settings. Sirius.com is for USA accounts SiriusCanada.ca is for CANADA accounts 3. If you are still having problems, call Sirius and make sure there is nothing wrong with account, login or password. 4. StarPlayr uses the Sirius Web player. It does not do the validation. Sirius handles the validation. StarPlayr only can do what the Sirius Web player allows. 5. If you do all this and you are still having problems, free support is available at NiceMac.com. I would glad to help you there. Where I will be able to instruct you to upload some log files and help troubleshoot this problem. Goodtime (Version 1.0b13)

You don't need to partition your hard drive again (unless you want to change its size) or reinstall your Macintosh and Windows software or documents, but it's very important to update the Boot Camp Assistant software, create a new Mac Drivers CD and install the updated software it contains onto Windows. Complete instructions are provided in the Installation and Setup Guide included with the Boot Camp 1.2 beta software." This info is also available on the Apple Boot Camp page. (Version 1.2b)

I do appreciate your responses, this is all I have ever asked from KAGI, a response, I didnt want my money back, I just wanted my serial number for this upgrade. I would have gone back to 1.8 but I didnt know where to download it. And I wasnt sure if I had to delete 2.0 inorder to go back to it if i did find 1.8 somewhere. These were all questions that I wanted answered but found no source to do so within the time frame I had. My problem is not with your software per se just the customer service, and I don't think loyal customjers should be charge for every minor upgrade. This is a minor upgrade and not a major one. I read the release notes and I don't see anything justifying the addtional $30 at this time, I would go ahead and pay it but I don't trust KAGI do get it done. I own a commercial mortgage company and I know all about customer service and whta it takes to keep loyal customers once you attain them. People want someone to talk to when they have a major software problem or any problem really. Not a long menu of options that don't fit you or just a FAQ section because often peoples problems aren;t going to be frequently asked. As I continue to cool off about this I will consider the upgrade but right now I'm still not leaning that way. I now have to call KAGI and see what this other charge is, good luck with all this. I will download the 1.8 version again and take it from there. As far as people reading this I will leave it like this, I think fotomagico is a nice product which I believe is on its way to become better. My problem is with their customer service and their third party payment service. So if you need to make a nice slideshow I would give it a shot but beware, if the online transaction goes awry as mine did then you are pretty much out of luck. I will consider revising my ratings depending on the outcome of my next encounter with KAGI. (Version 2.0)

I am very sorry to hear that you feel ripped off and that you have trouble with your project. We do our best to serve every customer as good as we can and have certainly no intention to rip anybody off. Since we got no purchase record from Kagi, I am sure that your purchase was not completed and that therefore you will not be charged any money. (If, by "being billed by Kagi" you mean that you got a purchase record, it also contains your serial number, BTW.) As for the contacting us at Boinx, there are several email addresses noted on our website (boinx.com/contact) as well as a contact form at boinx.com/fotomagico/support. While we might be a bit behind in answering all questions following the launch of FotoMagico 2, I am sure that all emails and requests are answered. The team is hard at work to get everyone helped as soon as possible. But I can find no trace of you trying to contact us. I am upset that instead you choose to publicly discredit our company and our product because of some technical problem you apparently have with the reseller. I hope you don't mind me asking why you rate the product with just one star and still obviously use it in project for customers? And why you feel ripped of by a $30 update fee when you apparently use the application to make money? I am sure that there are more significant costs associated with your project. We design our products to make it as easy as possible for you to get your work done and I think we deserve our share for that and the new possibilities with FotoMagico are worth the update fee.

SJK Seems pretty irresponsible to upgrade without keeping the old version while you still had an unfinished project. (Version 2.0.1)

I take full responsibility for the fact that it is far too easy to make that mistake. We learned from that fact and will in the future change the name of the app when we make a major update, so that, when you download the new version and copy it to your applications folder, it does not automatically replace the old version.

SJK Thanks for the response, Oliver. Obviously it's your choice if you want to include the version number in the app name, though OS X applications installed with drag/drop to the /Applications folder do prompt before overwriting a previously installed version with the same name so users have to take some responsibility of deciding whether or not to confirm it regardless of the version. With the change you're proposing, I bet someone launching FotoMagico with a Dock icon click will be confused when the previous version launches after they've installed a newer one without a corresponding Dock icon. Of course that's likely to be less irritating than accidentally clobbering a version you'd want to save. :-) (Version 2.0.1)

MILESLONG Ripped off by Boinx and Kagi. I bought the Fotomagico upgrade for $30 which was a rip off anyway but then I was billed by KAGI, their outsource provider for billing, and I have never received the serial for Fotomagico. After repeated calls and emails NOONE has bothered to contact me. Im sick of being ripped off like this. This is some kind of scam, no one ever answers the phone at KAGI and I dont know how to contact Boinx directly as their website makes it impossible to do so, only FAQ's Im thoughourly disgusted with this company, I have an unfinished project that is now overdue because my old version is gone now and only the new demo remains. MACUPDATE ADMIN Have you tried deleting the OnyX preferences file? Search for onyx.plist and delete that file and then launch OnyX (Version 1.7.7)
