Type: ReviewDate: 30 Mar 2008 20:29This program is simply ahead of its time. The attention to detail, the simplicity, the feature set and quality of Remote Buddy is nothing short of amazing.
The most impressive feature is iPhone AJAX. I can't wait to see what the developer will do with the iPhone SDK.

Type: ReviewDate: 20 Mar 2008 02:29Awesome program; it served me well through my physics and calculus clases. I particularly love the way expressions are nicely formated in the big screen; order of precedence is shown beautifully. So complex expressions look beautiful. Editing could be better though.
It'd surreal if the output could be edited like real text.
Also I'd change the way resizing shows or hides buttons.
Easy of use I rate as 4, but there is tons of potential for innovation.
Overall it's a must-have calculator for both casual and pro use. I replaced Apple's sucky calc un a breeze.

Type: ReviewDate: 14 Mar 2008 03:40You can add text through the "T" button right beside the shadow button. I do agree that the performance is poor. I think this is still a PPC app and running in rosetta makes it very unresponsive.
But if the performance issues were solved, and if it got a few UI tweaks, this thing is amazing. It's easy to use (it could use some more polishing though) but the feature set is IMPRESSIVE.
Basically the way it works is: you right click a plain folder in the Finder, choose iconcompo, and drag-and-drop the badge you want (second icon). You can customize a zillion things if you need to.
There used to be a few of these utilities a few years ago and this iconcompo seems the last to remain alive. I hope that the developer continues development.
This kind of app is essential for any icon user and I think it can reach the "mainstream" status of CandyBar. It's got a lot of potential.

Type: ReviewDate: 12 Nov 2007 13:23I'm not paying again for this fraud. I already paid too much for a license that doesn't work well. What's the developer thinking?
Stay away from this fraud, don't be deceived by the pretty interface. This developer is not to be trusted.

Type: CommentsDate: 24 Feb 2007 15:57I'm in agreement regarding the folder/file manipulation restrictions, I thought the software was handicapped and couldn't do it.
I think it's essential to have full features in evaluation version if you don't wanna scare away potential users.

Type: CommentsDate: 10 Feb 2007 05:35Beautiful attitude towards bringing this great functionality back however:
•Spring-loading leaves folders open; they should collapse like in the Finder.
•Double-clicking on folders/files does nothing?! May be a bug, I'm on 10.4.8 and using DD 1.3. Make it do something! At least make it an option.
•Tabs miss clicks: When a tab is at the edge of the screen, when clicking on the edge sometimes the tab won't open, I think this is because the resize behavior conflicts with the open behavior. It'd be nice to lock the resizing so that it doesn't miss the open click.
•List view is handicapped: limited sorting/metadata options, labels don't show. Please bring them back to full glory!
•Please bring an icon view, it's very missed.
•When choosing "Small tabs" there's a bug that makes the whole content of a tab diminute.
•Editing filenames: it'd be nice being able to edt filenames by the click-and-wait-on-text behavior, like in the Finder.
•Moving tabs: when "Tabs at bottom" is chosen, and I move a tab, what's the point of being able to vertically move the tab anywhere on the screen if it'll go back down when it collapses?
•Dragging files to trash does nothing. Move them to trash!
•Refreshing: is there a better way to handle this? Changes made from the Finder won't reflect on tabs unless the refresh command is used :-/ can you make it more sync'd?
•There's a bug where, when copying to ghost folder in a tab (ghost because it was deleted in the Finder and the tab wasn't refreshed) it'll copy the file to the parent folder. I think it should warn that the folder no longer exists.
•When "Tabs at bottom", why the bottom resize widget? I don't think it works well at all, and I think there are too many ways to resize the tab.
•Collapsing inconsistent? When dragging a file into a tab's child folders it collapses, however when dragging to the tab's current directory, aka white space, it stays open. I'd like it to collapse on both scenarios.
There are a few more things but hopefully, as development progresses, these and other quirks and bits will get ironed. There's a lot of work to do, I hope this app doesn't go into passive mode like Drop Drawers. There's lots of potential for this type of app.
Somewhere, sometime, someone will make collapsing tabs a vital tool, again. The quest continues.

Type: CommentsDate: 7 Feb 2007 22:38Great app, and I've paid for this when it was shareware but it seems it has been abandoned.
I hope it's retaken soon, it hasn't received any major updates in a long time. Either that or I can see its death already coming... :-/

Type: CommentsDate: 6 Dec 2006 00:39Sure, I could always command-click on the titlebar to see the parent folders, the point was that the current implementation does the same mistake as the Finder and that previous versions of PathFinder had it right. The parent folders can be hidden through scrollbars, no need to kill them.

Type: CommentsDate: 5 Dec 2006 20:17It doesn't remember views
It doesn't remember window positions
Icon view isn't spatial
List view doesn't remember column widths, column directions, nor column attributes for each folder, instead it's global for everything.
Shares some of the inconsistencies of Apple's Finder such as sidebar item's hiding the parent folders (PathFinder had it right in previous versions)
In midst of all the negatives, I do have to admit and admire that PathFinder does look refined and responsive. A great deal of dedication has been put into PathFinder and it's evident. But like many other people, I find that the lack of crucial features as mentioned above will scare away many potential users.
PathFinder needs a new direction; rather than adding eye-candy features, work on the inner fundamental concept of file-management. Once you visualize it, it'll be very clear.

Type: ReviewDate: 18 Oct 2006 20:35This is by far the best browser UI-wise on any platform. The UI has been designed for flexibility, intuitiveness, consistency, and usability. From flexible tab management to bookmarks, it's just a pleasure to use.
Just to give a few examples:
•Edit-in-place bookmark labels in favorites bar: intuitive, fast, convenient and more usable than any other browser I've ever tried.
•Favorites bar accommodates overflowing bookmarks in new line: all other browsers put the usual hideous arrow to signify hidden bookmarks. Accessing content through such arrow is cumbersome and counterintuitive. Omniweb simply accommodates bookmarks on new line. Brilliant.
•Vertical thumb tabs: easy to create, easy to move around, close, open in new window, identify, etc. By far the most usable tab design on any browser.
The list goes on and most of the outstanding features have already been commented by other reviews such as custom-site-preferences, ad-blocking etc.
Being a dual platform user, the only thing I lament is such wonderful browser being Mac only. Apple is lucky to have such passionate exclusive developers.
