MAUDLIN  Apparently, this has now been fixed. An updated version of the new release is now compatible with 10.5.7. http://houdah.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=3647043

coconutBattery

MAUDLIN  I have a 2.16 Ghz MacBook and coconutBattery 2.6.5 shows Current Battery Capacity 5148mAh - greater than its Original Battery Capacity of 5020 mAh. This is from a 19 month old machine which has gone through 136 Battery Load Cycles. I'm using OS 10.5.6.

I've tried several previous versions which have all also shown current capacity at more than 100% original capacity.

MAUDLIN  This is from the "Upgrader's Guide" on Devonthink Pro Office 2.0pb2

"Due to technical difficulties with the new engine this public beta comes with OCR temporarily disabled. We and ABBYY are working hard on making it work again and will release a new public beta as soon as possible."

If you need OCR stick with the previous beta, where it still works.

MAUDLIN  I think this is the best of the Spotlight alternatives.

Finally, my files seem to belong to me again - I can now find them all. I particularly like the detailed control it gives over searches: eg “find all files modified in the last 36 hours other than folders” or “find all files of type A, containing the word B, in folder C, modified before date D, other than those containing word E in the filename”. You can save complex searches and recall them with a keyboard shortcut. Its quite helpful to study the templates in the menubar (eg 'Long lost files'). It was only when I did this that I finally grasped how to set up a boolean "not" search.
