MATT21  "Dropped support for 10.4."

Well no contribution from me then.

BS0D  Hello,

It might still work under 10.4 but I don't have any way to test it (it's the only reason why I "dropped support for Tiger").

Give it a try anyway, it would be nice to see if it works...

BINARYMINDED  Ooops, my bad! I am very sorry about that bug. It was a silly typo (I meant "critical") in the installer, and it will be fixed in the next release. Fountain Music itself is not affected by this bug, so for now, I suggest you try a manual install, as described in the Readme distributed with Fountain Music. Sorry again for the inconvenience, and I hope you enjoy Fountain Music once you get it running.

Crypt2
Dec 23 2005
*....

MATT21  Why does this encryption application phone home???

Little Snitch warns: "Crypt2 wants to connect to dsl001-148-109.sfo1.dsl.speakeasy.net on TCP port 80 (http)" each time a file or folder is dragged to the Crypt2 icon. You wouldn't know this was happening without Little Snitch. Email to the developer requesting an explanation went unanswered. For a security app to phone home and not alert the user is unacceptable.

THE DJ  We mostly write the program, we don't reverse engineer codecs. You should contact the ffmpeg team, which does most of the reverse engineering work when it comes to codecs.

MATT21  I had the same problem playing Internet vids. Solution: do a Find search on your entire harddrive for "flip4" (no quotation marks) and move to Trash everything associated with this app. Result: vids no longer stop halfway.

MATT21  Wow! Just discovered I consistently hear a semi-tone higher in my right ear. I'm a musician and I had no idea. I know it's my ears and not ToneTester because switching headphones around made no difference in the results. Weird, man.

MATT21  Couldn't agree more! I have trashed more apps (and devs have lost more money) because of incomplete or badly written instructions I just have no time to decipher. Really, you devs must provide step-by-step instructions with your programs and make the ramp up as level as possible. If you haven't the talent for this -- after all, clear, comprehensive writing is a skill! -- have someone do it for you.

PAUL YOUNG  I agree with your point but use your imagination. My mother would love to read to her great grandchildren but she is visually impaired. This application would give her an opportunity if someone else set it up for her. Thank you for your comment.

KEMACSABE  Just downloaded this to try. I agree that a parent is the first choice to read to the kids, but there are many instances when it's not possible. I'd rather give my 5-year old some Mac time as a nice intro to computers than stick him in front of Cartoon Network. There are lots of toys that tell your kids stories - teddy bears and the like - so why not make your Mac a friend, too? Mine is part of the family as it is. No kibble to buy, no papers to put down...

MATT21  Nice idea and works as claimed. Only wish it used an algorithm stronger than AES128:

“In October 2005, Adi Shamir and two other researchers presented a paper demonstrating several cache timing attacks against AES. One attack was able to obtain an entire AES key after only 800 writes, in 65 milliseconds. These attacks require the attacker to be able to run programs on the same system that is performing AES encryptions.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AES
