MARK.ANDERSON Wow, this software is slicker than snot on a glass doorknob. Works as advertised, very fast & easy. Time to buy a license. One thing I'd like to see is a "watched folder" feature that would post files automatically when dropped in a hot folder. (Version 1.0)

MARK.ANDERSON I'd love to truly try the product, but I can't. Due to the raw paranoia of the developer, you CAN NOT, under any circumstances, recover data without a full time internet connection. For those of us in the REAL WORLD who use bootable, external devices for data recovery, it makes the product useless. Oh, and it's drastically overpriced. Get Data Rescue II... works great, costs less. (Version 1.1.5)

MOJIFEROUS Thank you for your comments, but please re-read the post and the readme, as I comment on the poor quality of the graphics, the half-baked implementation, and the fact that I made the program in a grand total of three hours... I am open to suggestions on how to improve Desktop Cigarette in any way possible! I also didn't realize that poor code and smoking were such dangerous things... --Admiral Colossus (Version .9)

MARK.ANDERSON ArtFiles is great. With 40 designers, we create and produce many complex documents, and it rips through most of them with ease. Yes, there are a few it chokes on, but those are usually solved with a re-save from Illustrator turning off Compression. Great tool, indespensible for our designers. (Version 1.1.1)

TUISHIMI Thanks for the link. I think performance issues are iffy. This comparison did not include the beta version of FF2. Also, most people go in immediately and tweak the http network settings in the Firefox config to speed things up A LOT. I am guessing the reviewer did not do that? I don't know. But again, thanks for the link. (Version 2.0b1)

ORION MK. V Ah the joys of so many browsers... I love OmniWeb, but it's definitely NOT the speed demon as you claim. Firefox launches slow (stupid gecko), but loads pages/sites quite briskly -- perhaps not the fastest. Personally, I've always found that Camino loads pages the most quickly, but also isn't fully compliant with rendering some code. Perhaps such speeds vary from user to user, based on machines, OS, proxies, ISPs, etc? (Version 2.0b1)

MARK.ANDERSON There's more to Boot Camp vs. Parallels than just the name. The biggest thing for me was the driver support, especially the native resolution of my MacBook Pro. Using XP with 1024x768, non-native with anti-aliasing sucks. Boot Camp is EXACTLY like having a PC laptop, EXACTLY. (Version 1.0.2beta)

MATT3141 Excellent point. Boot Camp has vastly better hardware support (especially for video), is less expensive (free!), and has superior performance than the "competing" product, Parallels. Sure, you have to reboot, but big deal. Did I mention it's also completely, 100% free? (Version 1.0.2beta)

| Aug 15 2006 |
JUSTINNORMAN The comment about resolution seems strange. The native resolution of my MacBook Pro is 1680 x 1050. I own Parallels, and can set my virtual Windows machine to the exact same resolution. I can then switch between Windows and Mac programs with Expose, without ever changing from my native resolution. Of course, I can understand the pricing issue. I got mine cheap via the introductory pricing, but now it's a bit expensive. (Version 1.1)

A. Totally ripped off from the Quartz Compser Developer Tools example file "Star Shine". B.
