MAREKJANCI Hao Li has been very good about communicating with me since I'd written about this problem. It appears that the force-quit problem has been solved. My Saft preferences were unchecked, though this could have happened in the last day of trouble-shooting Saft with Safari with the help of Hao. So I check-marked a few of the preferences of Saft, but found that if I check "enable full-screen at start", that I lose my Safari menu (Safari, File, Edit, etc.). All that I have is a hole between the blue Apple and my non-Apple icons that appear in the menu bar over in the top-right. That hole shows the desktop picture. I had to get the preferences window by using command-(comma). I'd written to Hao about this, and I'm sure that he'll respond soon. (Version 9.0b4)

MAREKJANCI Same as for GCG, this version of Saft demo will not allow me to quit Safari 3 unless I do a force-quit. Once I removed this version of Saft, I could quit Safari without a problem. (Version 9.0b3)

MAREKJANCI Warning! Definitely backup your Notes database before upgrading to 6.0 (and now 6.0.1. After upgrading to 6.0, my Notes has many, MANY duplicates of notes that that reside in my database. I'd just written to SOHO for technical advice as to what to do. I'll report here what that advice is. I like to idea of Notes, but of all the "puchased" software under OS X on my G5-2.0, this app his given me problems. I'll give this version a go, especially if the advice for the above problem will be helpful and prompt.

MAREKJANCI Thank you Unsanity, for version 1.8.2. It has corrected the problem that appeared with the release of version 1.8.1.

MAREKJANCI Please be aware that some users (myself included) are having a problem with version 1.8.1. Specifically, the icons won't take on the color which is a major feature of Labels X. One may want to keep version 1.8.0 as a backup in case it doesn't work for them. Hopefully, this will be resolved soon by Unsanity. Thank you.

Boinx FotoMagico | Mar 22 2007 |
MAREKJANCI I didn't have any problem with upgrading from version 1.8 to version 2.0. I did it through the upgrade window that appeared when I opened version 1.8 (which I'd purchase via MacHeist), and did buy the reduced-fee license for the Pro version, though I could have waited until May to do so. Since I made the transition to Aperture from iPhoto, I thought that I would go ahead and effect the upgrade. My purchase via the Boinx-FotoMagico upgrade window went smoothly and quickly. I received Kagi's email receipt and the correct amount was charged.

Apple iTunes | Mar 16 2007 |
MAREKJANCI I agree with mudflapper. I'd upgraded to 7.1 and 7.1.1, and I didn't have a problem. Do you have your iTunes library et al backed up to another drive, or more importantly, do you have a clone of your primary hard disk where your iTunes and its library reside? If so, you can go back by booting from that other drive, or at the very least you can copy over your iTunes backup. (If you haven't been doing backups, then you may want start ASAP.) MAREKJANCI Thank you for the response, but I'm already using the most recent version of Stuffit Expander. I'd downloaded your app again today, and when I click on its icon, I get the same error message about it being damaged or not complete. The icon for your app is a generic one, i.e., the one with the pad, pencil, etc. Is this any indication that there's a problem? (Version 2.0b2)

MAREKJANCI After downloading and unzipping the folder, I try to open Mail Archiver by double-clicking on it. It won't open, and I get a message stating that either the app is mssing elements or is damaged. Do I need filemaker to open the app? G5-2.0, 6 gb of Ram, and using current Mac OS 10.4.8. IVOR I spoke to soon. I still had the freeze, even after increasing the "minimum memory size" to 22000. Though, I did get FD6 to work when I increased the "preferred memory size" to 100,000. No freeze then. So it does seem to be a memory issue. I reported this to John at Morrison Software Tech Support, but since it's end of day, I'll have to wait for a response till tomorrow. IVOR JANCI John at Morrison Tech Support was quick to help. His suggestion was to increase the "minimum size" of the memory by 2000 (i.e., to 22000.) That worked! Thank you John. (Version 6.0)

IVOR JANCI I'd just written to Morrison software to let them know that version 6 on my G3-333 using OS 9.2.2 freezes my computer right after I press the button marked "Fix All". The dialog box was for and Internal Font ID problem with a font family (Constructivist by P22). It also froze on me when I tried to open a folder in the same dialog box so that I could see what fonts are in conflict. I tried it with all extensions off (Type 3 error immediately when trying to open the app), as well as with just 9.2.2 base extensions (froze again when I tried to "fix all".) I went back to 5.1.2, and it worked fine on the fonts. If anyone else experiences a problem, please let them know. Thank you. (Version 6.0)
