Refurb Me

MAIL3  Great widget, made it possile for me to find a Mac Pro the second it came to the store. Normally those are gone within like 2 hours.

A usability hint for the author: it would be great to be able to set a »minimal price« or filter by model. also. Means: when searching for a Mac Pro I am not interested in the 100 iMacs or Mac minis, I always have to scroll down to my kind of product.

MAIL3  I can't use any version on my G5 Dual 1.8 since version 0.8.6h (which runs flawlessly ever since). Every new version with the new interface crashes, shows no video window at all, stutters in audio output and then … crashes.

JCRAIG  The dmg includes a script to delete preferences. I assume you've tried this? Also, be sure the download link is not linking to the Intel version of VLC (you may want to go directly to the VLC site and grab the PPC version).

QUIIICK  Same over here. :(

Every new version (including the 1.0 RCs) since 0.9.9a, crashed when started up for the first time.

And when a video finally runs the audio output always stutters. Unusable. Back to 0.9.9a

Ye,s I always deleted the prefs prior to installing a new version!

My setup:

iMac '24 (early 2009)

Mac OS 10.5.7

Localhostr Widget
Jul 16 2008

MAIL3  I think Steve hit it right on the head: cool widget, works fine etc. But 50MB is really not much nowadays and I can't get a localhostr account at all. Tried a lot. Like the author of this widget: No mail or other contact is to be found anywhere @ localhostr's site nor on the widget author's site.

This kills my confidence to whom I send my data.

Bummer.
