MADMEGDIGITALLTD  This isn't a free application. It's donationware and should be changed on the description. This appears when you try to download it:

"Unfortunately the past showed that the amount of downloads and the use are disproportionate to the donations. Still I am against a commertial distribution and appeal to the honesty of all users."

So, what about all the users who tried it and trashed it? I'm sure they make up a good chunk of the "disproportionate" ratio of downloads to donations. You think I'm going to donate just to try it? Yeah, right.

STEVE78  hehe.. i think you misunderstood something.

you can download and use it for free. the text only says: if you use it you should donate.

so, what is your problem?

check it out. the large dmg icon is the download: http://www.tune-instructor.com/com/download.html

i think you missed the important point below the text:

"With the download and the use, every user agrees to contribute with a mite in one's sole discretion to the financing of the project."

this is absolutely fair… :)

you can try it out as long as you like and you don't can donate. this is your decision...

something to the application:

amazing!

this tool finds thousands of lyrics and artworks in my library. i uniqued all tag texts with serach & replace and all other functions.

very well done and saved me a lot of time.

the new version 3 allows me to rate the current track quickly. i don't need an other application any more.

i wrote some feature requests to the developer and he answered quickly and friendly.

i only can tell positive things.

Finale
Aug 19 2009

MADMEGDIGITALLTD  I used Finale c. 1995-2003…through two composition degrees. I used it because my teachers used it and I didn't know there was something better. I even engraved my doctoral dissertation with it…a 35-minute flute concerto. Preparing parts was an agonizing process. This program's all about clicking submenus and making the mouse travel to the palette. Then somebody suggested I try Sibelius. I've since been kicking myself for using Finale all those years, paying for "upgrade" after "upgrade." Getting useless new features when the fundamental underlying problems of the interface remained and the size of the program became more bloated.

I do make my living from engraving, arranging and original work, which makes that my profession. Nonetheless, I will stick with my original assessment of this "programme" (as you call it) as crapware. I'm not sure what being a professional has to do with it one way or another. I call 'em like I see 'em. I even tried 2009 thinking that after 10 years, surely they would have improved the interface. But no. It's still clunky as ever.

MADMEGDIGITALLTD  Cueboard? SoundCue?

At any rate, thanks for developing a free app for this task!

SimplyBurns

MADMEGDIGITALLTD  Based on your review, I tried Liquid CD, which promptly made a coaster. Then I tried Burn, which crashed. Desperate, I get SimplyBurns a try and it simply lived up to its name. Why did your review have to be at the top of the page?

Amazing Slow Downer X

MADMEGDIGITALLTD  Actually, Amadeus is a very good aid in transcription. So is sound studio. And even QT can be used. It's just that these program are not as dedicated to the task as ASD is. I actually bought ASD for a different function: I used it to adjust speed and pitch of loops and other sound samples for use in sequencing (something that DigitalPeformer, my sequencing software, doesn't do very well on its own). ASD's processing of audio is unparalleled. It sounds great, even with extreme changes of pitch and/or speed. Since buying ASD, I no longer use Amadeus for transcribing, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who transcribes on a regular basis. However, that doesn't mean a casual transcriber can't make use of Amadeus, etc. simply because these programs don't exclusively specialize in this area.

MADMEGDIGITALLTD  There's an option in the Preferences to turn off "enhanced window animations." That reduced quite a bit of strain on my CPU.
